She is a woman??? Get off the testosterone and growth hormone Kristan before it is too late because your mandible and cranium have already started to change.
Great sport. But they need to drug test and regulate this sport otherwise it is going to turn into another body building freek show competition. If Annie had any more testosterone and growth hormone in her system she would have to compete with the men.
She comes across as very professional and patient. She does an amazing job as a teacher, coach and cheerleader. Oh yeah...she is an amazing athlete also.
@Dollzie29 i already handled it as RX'd. sprinted 1000m in intervals and 100 push-ups were easy (prior service), but the snatches just kill me because i suck at them. it took me about 5 minutes to do 10 snatches. thats about 2 a minute. felt like garbage after the WOD
@claynrev firstly testosterone supplementation isn;t illegal...i didn;t say she was on steroids. Secondly...oestrogen levels in females inhibit their ability to put on muscle (btw that doesn't mean they can't be strong) but im talking about her physical look unless she has something that is inhibiting her oestrogen production i dunno.....clean eating doesn't make you put on muscle like that...body building diets put on muscle like that...dont get me wrong...im not ragging on her..she is amazing
ok im gonna put it out there...she looks like a guy.(not in a lesbian way, though obviously like that aswell)..she is also more muscular than any other female crossfit athlete...? like if she must be taking something like testosterone etc...unless she is the execption to when it come to females and putting on size like that..don't get me wrong she is an amazing athlete
@omgLudo She isn't overly feminine looking, I suppose, but she does look incredible! I put on muscle like that, it's genetic for me. I've never taken anything and at my peak I had traps and lats and shoulders almost like hers (although never quite as awesome as her)!
@The24205 i feel that natural female genetics could not play that much of role in her physique (or yours... assuming your a female as well) without being deficient in oestrogen... but i am not trying to say she is supplementing testosterone to lift heavier...i was just more wondering why no one discusses her appearance more...?
i'm pretty fresh to crossfit and have mainly done old fashioned lifting. this is my 4th CF workout i've done and want to know, can i partition the push-up and snatch reps? (I.E. 10 push-ups, 1 snatch for 10 sets) or does it have to be in a row.
@xthexTxvirusx it is really up to you, but if your looking to go into competition you will do it in order. with dividing it like that you slow your time down though
actually i believe they do hand-release because that's the only real way to judge full ROM for the games. the games pushups are hand release so those that are competing/competitive at the games do it since that's what they have to do for hte open/regional/games.
Great video, but the one thing I might add is that the learner (in black) needs to watch the hyperextension during the "up" of pushups. Kristan looks like a great teacher, and obviously she ain't bad as a practitioner!
It also makes the pushup more challenging. Try and see how much more activated your shoulders are by lifting your hands at the bottom. But @wisdometernal is correct, it's the only way to maintain standards when judging depth of pushups. You can't lift your hands if your chest isnt on the deck!
@wisdometernal I'm pretty sure it's to make sure that you get all the way to the bottom of the pushup, because if your hands come off the ground you chest is forced to be on the deck. It has to do with maintaining of standards/judging motions in competition setting.
i can see gay guys being attracted to this woman.

@omgLudo i think its just clean eating... A lot of clean eating... Just because she is muscular doesnt mean she is taking something illegal.

She is not only a best athlete but also a great tutor. Explaining the snatch stance with vertical leap? very good.
And she also got the very clean snatch form which most of the leading CFitters dont have.

Question: why do CF'ers lift their hands in every rep on push ups?
wisdometernal 2 months ago
@wisdometernal proper form/technique. keep a straight spine is the goal
ThatGoodBarbequ 2 months ago
@wisdometernal More range of motion and helps to learn how to generate power into the pushup.
