It means that most of the laptop is made from a single piece of aluminum, making it much sturdier and using about 50% less individual parts. If you've ever held one of these, they feel extremely sturdy, and because it's unibody, you won't see any lines on the computer that indicate multiple parts tied together.

If you don't mind the screen, you should go with the macbook because I wouldn't use the second graphics card in the MacBook Pro much. It's more powerful, but it also produces a LOT of heat, and I'd rather use something a little less powerful that doesn't burn my Mac away.

it is less than 5 pounds. I carry my early 2008 MacBook Pro to school everyday. It is not that big of a deal, as long as you get a good briefcase! :)

depends on what you need. The Macbook would be the overall choice by almost everyone. The Macbook is everything almost anyone ever wants. The best system, memory, speed, ect. the macbook is good for movies and is energy efficient. The dell xps is the leading competitor with Apple's laptops. Its totally based on what you need.

I like apple's looks but i heard they crash a lot and have a lot more problems then vista. and macs dont have the capability to install most programs but macs do have more memory etc. i mean, im only 12, i just want the best of the best.

Flpyii, they really do not crash a lot, I actually have not had one crash with any mac. They work with a lot of programs and you can run windows on your mac to via Bootcamp (which is free and awesome)

The Dell XPS has a rather wimpy keyboard. If you type a lot of on it, or even leave a small blemish here and there, it will show. It doesn't feel sturdy like the new MacBook's keyboard, and on my old Dell XPS, the space button became extremely loose after using it a lot during games.

you have to buy the case separately. 35 bucks from Apple for that particular model. It's a bit expensive, but it's an excellent case if you've ever felt the inside.
