@noobtuber91 This answer might be some what late, but thats better than never.

The Idea is to buy cheap and sell for a higher price. (e.g. buy for 10g sell it for 25g). This of course require that you already have some gold to start you off. That, or you have items worth selling.

Thats why you check items that are below marketprice, so you know what to buy and then sell at marketprice.
