  • Wow, congratulations. Are you half-holing some notes to get a G#, or it's me? Thanks!

  • Too fast, I can't follow with my blockflute :P Want to be able to play it too :P

  • wowo nice job!

  • omg ur AMAZING!

  • wow amazing! ive been trying to play some jigs on the recorder too but it didn't world for me. Nice job!

  • ha ha ha nice use!

  • whata...nice playing!

  • lol! Io alle medie dovevo suonare "il piave mormorava calmo e placido al passaggio"...ahaha...si vede che il flauto stimola la musica patriottica :)

Maybe i'm gonna take out my middle school flute lost somewhere...it's pretty cool!

  • I can play this but the sheet that I have doesn't have the full song. Just the beggining.

  • that preformance was outstanding !

  • I have to play this for music class and it's real hard, definitly for a 7th grader! Question, when you play this song do you just play it all while blowing out with the exception of a few repeating notes?

  • i hav to learn this and its super hard!!!!! nice job!!!!! my finger like fall off when im done

  • wow, you're good at it!

    It's a PLASIC flute?

  • @taneeke Yes. It's Yamaha YRS-23.

  • @xApclyptcx But you look that professional! A plastic flute seems very amateuristic. Isn't a wooden flute better?

  • @taneeke Certainly.. Wooden recorder better then plastic recorder. I've got Yamaha YRS302 B III. It's plastic too. But it's professional.

  • @xApclyptcx I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

Voulez-vous traduire votre réponse? ça coûte moins en plasic qu'en bois, non? Y a-t-il aussi des autres raisons pour choisir celle flute-ci?

  • @taneeke I don't know French. Flute = Recorder. I live in Turkey. I have got limited facilities. Please use Google Translate.

  • @xApclyptcx Oops, your chanel says you're from France :p

The most important thing is I like your play :)

  • the music should flow the tonguing your doing is wrong use ornaments to separate notes

  • Nice job!

  • Great job!!!!

Can you tell me the notes for the second part, please.

I play the first part like you do, but I just can't figure out the high notes...

  • Ok, to be brutally honest, I have no idea how hard this song would be for a beginner on the flute. Could anyone clarify? How long would it take for a beginner to play this? I don't have a flute nor plan on buying one, I am just curious.

  • you play verry good and verry well!

    5 stars!

  • Great!, your video will help me in teaching my daughter how to play this melody. I know how to play it on the guitar, but transportation is necessary :)

  • Dude....I love haha!! Awesome!! I went down to the dollar store after i saw this and bought a flute lol!

  • @hoffmanrox ;)

  • lol this reminds me of zelda lol

  • hi, is this a D whistle?

  • @TheCherokeeboy Actually this is a classical recorder, not the traditional Irish instrument this jig is often played on.

  • This is the way it should be played. All you pretenders take note, and thats from an All Ireland Dance Champion

  • @MrHoopy1967 Thank you!

  • @MrHoopy1967 Not... the pause betweeen the 1st and 2nd strand was too hesitant and the rall at the end wasn't emphasised. You may be a dancer but I'm a musician

  • get a wooden recorder i hear they play better for a pro like you

  • sounds greatt

  • I thought this was Holst's " Fantasia on the Dargason"?

  • I thought that too when I first heard this melody. They're similar, but still different.

  • You are the master of recorder.

Never in my life, have I heard someone play the recorder as well as you!

  • omfg perfect

  • this is the best wind instrument for this melody :) i like it

  • well done

    this must be talent

    greetings from germany

PS: THIS is the ringtone of my mobile phone :D

  • Do you think that you could do a slower lesson version? I would love to be able to play more on my recorder than Mary had a Little lamb.

  • my school band plays this but not as fast.

  • yayyyyyy! i loved it. I'm going to try to learn this song and play it for my recorder recital.

  • Mornin:D

Im from Ireland and i hear this all the time (and i know it on guitar) and ive gotta say, that was reallly good, DO NOT pace it down its perect, its meant to be fast its a jig :D

Can you make a lesson video, this would go great with my guitar!

    =) =) =)

  • I'm so glad it pleased an Irishman!

  • You have pleased a scot too! :D

    Very welll played!

  • and you have pleased an illinoisian! right on!

  • yes its great

  • Beautiful, you are very talented, I have the same flute!

  • ugggggggghhhhhhh.

  • im trying to play this on recorder for school, but its sooo fast!!

  • GENIAL GENIAL WM!! Dx

  • sorry

  • bravo

  • Thanks to all of you, it makes me want to post some more! As soon as I have time...

  • that was bloody brilliant and i think the pace is fine

  • AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG!

    seriosuly great job! ( :

  • That was amazing... I have the same recorder... I wanna learn how to play it on the recorder... I played it my freshman year of college on my flute and it was hard then... but I love the song! You did WONDERFUL!

  • This song is very difficult to play so have respect please!!

  • major skillets

  • really cool

  • wow! irish songs on the recorder are sooo hard, respect!

  • nice played

  • try not to go to fast i don't here it that well...

  • I agree with you, I played a bit too fast for my actual skill.

  • Blasphemy

  • you are very skilled... anyway, staccato in irish music doesn't sound so nice as legato, at least a bit unusual for my ears:o) and I think there are missing some tones at the end of the B part... I think there should be "egg dgg|cgg bgg" and there are missing last three tones. but you're good when you play irish music by ear.

  • Thanks for your comment! I indeed missed some notes, sorry about that... I will be trying something more like legato next time, but the necessary tonguing between repeated notes might make it difficult.

  • the tonguing is far from necessary between repeated notes. Try to separate them with a quick tap on the lower note (lets say you play E E, than play E (D) E). Its a common ornamentation in irish music.

  • I see what you mean because I play the bagpipes too. I am not used to doing it on the recorder (was taught classical music), I will be working on that. Thanks.

  • when you are playing it so fast, you are not in the same tempo all the time. I mean the breathing breaks become too long. with orchestra it wouldn`t matter, if the orchestra knew and would support you. now it disturbs a bit.

    but good finger work anyway

  • Hey! Congrats!

    You play very good! =)

  • please you have is notes?

  • I played by hear, but this one should be easy to find on the net.

  • Pace it down ? You're not playing faster than session speed anyhow...

  • I do not mean down to the pace it should be played... I mean down to a pace I would not mess it up!

  • very nice... I gather you just came back from a trip to Ireland!!!!
