There are a lot of different gay people with different gay personalities. Some act like the stereotypes, others dont act anything like you see on the show.

Just because it is based on a real person does not make it a positive or progressive message for young gay people. @punkmanjon I'm sure young gay kids will be savvy enough to develop their own personalities. This isnt a reinforcement, its a story of ONE guy who happens to be gay. Homophobes are ignorant, no matter what information is thrown at them will stick with what they want. There are plenty of tough gay men and women, but homophobes ignore these. like i said, not all gay kids are like this, gay teenagers who aren't like this aren't alienated because they dont act like this but because they're gay.

I see nothing positive in this show, just a type of stereotyping we moved past in the 1980s. Gay people don't need to be portrayed like this anymore, we have moved on. @punkmanjon if you see Beautiful People, the sexuality of the main characters isn't the center point. Of course it's there, but the main subject about this show is alienation. Simon and Kylie are two young boys in a world that is oppressive and smothering just because they are different. I think it's a message you can relate, no matter if your difference is sexual, physical, mental or any other kind.

@aliceisagleek I have to admit that Glee is getting better. I watched the first 4 episodes of season 1 and I hated them but my friend got me to watch some of season 2 and it was a lot better. The song choices and plot were vastly improved. I like Beautiful People because of the story. They have all the episodes on youtube for Beautiful people. It's a really good show and I think you should check it out if you like Glee. My friend that got me into Glee loves Beautiful People now.
