God, this isn't even the scene where the munchkin supposedly hangs himself. The real scene is where dorothey and gang are headed off into the woods after the witch sets scarecrow on fire. Old vhs tapes made it look like somebody jumped off and swayed in the background, but the clear image of dvd and blu-ray now clearly shows that it's just a bird spreading its wings. The tip of the wing is a slightly different color than the rest of the bird, and a fuzzy image can distort it. That's all.

Along with the bird, there's no hanging at all. You're supposed to look at the top left corner, then a little to the right. Someone's swaying back and forth like they're hanging, WRONG! And besides...the so-called suicide didn't even take place in this scene. It took place in the forrest after Dorothy, the Scarecrow, and the Tim Man met up with the Wicked Witch (right before meeting the Cowardly Lion).

No, this video is a bunch of bull. The supposed hanging scene is when Dorothy, the scarecrow, and the tin man go marching on the yellow brick road through the forest. There is a huge debate over it being a munchkin or a crane of some sort.

Exactly! This scene doesnt even need to be debated over because it was abviously a change in floor level on the scene. The forest scene has a good debate vs. this one.

actually its in the newer version of the wizard of oz where they replaced the firgure of the hanging munchkin with a bird but in the origianal you can clearlly see the man being hung
