  • at 1:11 Where did he go??? :D:D:D

  • This is AWESOME. Which DVD from Pekiti.com is this from? Also, does Pekiti appear in any of your novels?

  • @ZhuangziZhou This is from the Hand vs. Knife Level One DVD. You can order it from the Pekiti website. I based most of the fight scenes in my novels on Pekiti-Tirsia techniques and principles. You can read several free sample chapters on my book website, TheSwordofFire

  • @TuhonBillMcg Thank you so much. I will definately be purchasing. Did you train with Leo T. Gaje?

  • i would just get control of his wrist knee him in the nuts and run and while running yell out FIGHT LIKE A MAN and either get away or wait till he drops the knife and than comeback and fight him cuz i would be scared to hold on to him and be near him any longer cuz if he someone overpowered me while holding to long he might stab me so yeh thats what id do learn ur wrist control technique just to get away =]

  • when you nebees watch this avoid trying to remember every little technique but instead major concepts

on first watching for a newbee. The first concept may be hitting with elbow on the upperarm to back of the neck

Key word he like to say is Nerve distruction.Hense a major concept.

What I am trying to say is instead of nay saying him when you don't have the experince

    or

trying to rememeber every move like step arobics

reflect on the over all concepts that will serve you

  • and thank you for sharing your point of view just some friendly debate to keep the mind sharpe my man:)

  • i see what your saying but i think its still alot of thinking when being attacked when you could catch the knife hand and turn it to a shoulder or hip throw and ending with strikes or a sit in armbar for complete control if there are no other threats around but if there are then strikes would be good. just one fluid movement over your shoulder could be enough to end the attack but take further action for safety sake

  • @ironlou1 trying to put someone in an armbar while they still have a knife in thier hand is very dangerous. what if they have more than on blade. in sayoc kali we train using multiple blades.sometimes i carry two blades. that is just something to think about. i have seen some guys who try to grapple with people with knives and it was not pretty. the knife won every time.

  • those are alot of steps to think about while being attacked plus the slashing defense why would i want to slap someone with a knife away from me after gaining control of him all that does is give the attacker the distance he needs to start his attack again and that means you have to think your way through all of these unneeded moves agian. its a vicious cycle

  • Try to think of these techniques as modular units broken down into: 1. avoiding the attack, 2. delivering a strike, 3. applying a control technique. The control portion may be a lock, disarm or take down, or it may be controlling the distance. If you have a weapon, then creating some distance and drawing your weapon may be your best choice. Always leave yourself an escape route if a control technique fails.

  • @ironlou1 As Tuhon McGrath said, pushing him away provides you the opportunity to draw your own weapon. Creating distance allows the threat to be shot to the ground by application of gun fire, for example.

  • Those are the same moves that they taught us while I was the army a few yrs back.

  • you miss on the first block and you

re done for, i always recommend the running away method.

  • Tuhon McGrath, what an excellent clip. My Instructor has alway said I need to check out your material and now I know why. Thank you for posting these clips!

  • This guy looks solid. If anyonew is looking for any other knife defense stuff the Dog brothers die less often stuff is a little simpler and perhaps a little bit more practical. I also like the carl transwell STAB system (except he doesnt present many viable finishes.)

  • awesome moves

  • Thanks for posting, guro.

  • Magnificent. thanks Tuhon. When r u guys going to put some Pekiti in the L.A. area?

    salamat
