  • just asking why is it that a lot of the time in the uk when a march is played there is a five beat drumroll and the command quick march is given whereas in australia the command quick is given and then two three beat drumrolls are played to signal the start of a march?

  • Per Ardua 63 sqn.

  • Sad days, and this is an Army Guy saying it.

  • whats the march @5:20?

  • @aeromexicopilotman Blue Devils

  • Thank you for sharing. Lived there 2000 to 2004 and knew lots of the band lads from Germany. Duncan Stubbs is a true gentleman.

  • National Emblem at 7:12! That's an American march - but the bass drum is not played right. :It is out of sync with the other instruments at first.

  • @rmorecook It's is played in that style to keep the band in step. It's not out of sync, it's classically referred to as a "five".

  • @mouchel1995 Why is it called a "five"? Thanks Bob M

  • @rmorecook Because it is five beats! Simple as! I fit's in to two bars

  • @rmorecook its not out of beat

  • I lived at RAF Uxbridge from 1994 - 2002. My dad was in the central band and I am keen on following his footsteps
