Hi highly doubt the homebuilder did this. The former homeowner and vandals did it. The builder can always sell the house for low price, even if $50K. They probably can sell it for 20K as is now.

its more cost effective for the banks to remove the house and sell the land rather than pay the tax money for a partially incomplete lot of houses and then also sell the house and land below market value to recover their own costs. In other words, its cheaper for them to demolish the houses.

I agree some people bought houses that they could not afford while others bought houses that they could afford at the time then lost their jobs. So if someone bought a home they could afford at the time then lost their job how is that their intential faught for them losing their home when it was not their fault they lost their jobs. Also the bankers took advantage of people by the way they loaned the money and not giving people all the info upfront ie adjustable rates.
