  • make sure you use top of the line oil if you gonna be holding wheelies like that, and for god sakes, you dont bounce the bike up, you clutch into the wheelie. a rider will never get the bikes weight to transfer enough to lift the front wheel, you gonna get some kid killed tryin to pull his bike up. you get moving, pull your clutch, increase rpms by 2000 release clutch. thats how you clutch into a wheelie without tryin to be the incredible hulk. practice slowly with gear on cheap bike

  • @DaUnforgiven1 Ill agree with you on the oil level, but THE 1000's DO NOT HAVE THE OIL STARVATION ISSUES THAT THE 650's HAVE. But I disagree with you on how to get it up, "bouncing" it up requires much less throttle, and even if you clutch it up bouncing it makes it more controlled since it takes less power. Being stupid with the clutch lands more people on their backs than understanding weight transfer ever will. Weight transfer is what makes long stoppies possible, and "getting it up" easy

  • Dude... Your gonna seize that front piston holding wheelies like that.

  • the audio sounded like a down syndrome ray gun :/

  • damn that shit smooth

  • haha sooooo bad for the bike but soooo badass.. lol

  • my ride's a sv1000 but i can only weelie in First and second, when i pop the clutch in 3rd it hardly comes up....it comes up allright but not as high to get to the balance point to actually perform the weelie... how many revs u got when popping in 3rd/4rth??

  • There goes that front cylinder. Oil starvation, anyone?

  • @dyoungs6 I always wondered about that, So it can really happen ?

  • what always amazes me is that we always get away with the speeding or stunting, n o member of the public ever reports it

  • Think it's a 1000 with a single pipe exhaust.

I've got one by Yoshimura on my sv 1000 s.

  • so does my bro

  • how much more oil I should put in mine K8 sv650s not to blow the engine. Normaly there is 2,3 liters. What figure we are talking about? Slighty more then H mark? Nice wheelies mate. Im really surprised that sv650 can pull wheelies like that!!! Loving my bike even more now!!!:D

  • I can't seem to get comfortable standing up, I know it will help me ride them longer. Got any advice on it. Or is it just stand up and do it....I guess its just cause It feels different, I can wheelie sitting down no problem. Guess I just gotta go for it??

  • i had the same problem. just try getting your butt off the seat (off-road attack position) and practice some 20mph 2nd gear clutches. standing higher and higher, eventually you'll get the feel for the balance point

  • Yeah I have been trying to get out and practice I have a few decent strait aways where I know there aren't any cops but its been rainy here. And my inspection is up but IDC I will hopefully be out tomm or saturday, I am so comfortable sitting down so I need to get the standing up. Practice practice for me tomm.

  • You can try standing up with one foot on the peg and the other foot on the passenger peg, its 10 times easier to stand up that way. My buddies have a gsxr 750, and 3 gsxr 600's and thats how they do 80% of all their wheelies. I have a ninja 650r and I also do a majority of mine that way. Good luck!!

  • when do you put your foot back onto the peg? Is it when the front begins to come off the ground? I want to learn to do a flamingo but I think baby steps are best. Specially high speed.

  • You find a consistant speed, stand up and put your left foot on the rear peg and leave your right foot on the peg over the rear brake. Once comfortable, thats when you begin the wheelie. On the 650's with stock sprockets, in second gear, the bike will lift best somewhere around 40mph. I dont recommend doing them in 1st cause the bike comes up way to fast making it hard to control..but if you do, I find it best at 4-6k rpm's. Hope this helps, good luck!!

  • Yea....and what about the clutch. I'm so used to not using the clutch. It's a sv1000s that I'm getting next weekend btw. Yup, makes sense to keep the break covered and to move the foot to the back before wheeling. thanks

  • Well any good stunter will tell you to use the clutch. If you do then you will have more control and be able to do them at slower speeds. But there is controversy about wether or not it destroys the clutch. I have heard that it doesnt hurt the clutch as bad as some say. But I was talking about power wheelies on the last post. The 1000 though will put up wheelies 10 times easier though.

  • @jdvoss1832 well said

  • @socool666420bc Thank you sir. My 09 zx6r will power up in 1st pretty easy and sometimes in 2nd. I just ordered vortex rear sprocket (+4) and I have had a sunstar front sprocket for 3 months now (-1). I cant wait to get the rear sprocket on and see what my bike will do!!

  • Oil starvation? I ride a K5 SVS and From what I hear its horrible to ride a wheelie on em' further than 1/4 mile or so. You have any problems with your front cylinder yet....?

  • put a little more oil in it. common fix.

  • exaust looks like a 650, wheelies look like 1000

  • its a 1650

  • lol yea its the TLSV 1650R a rare model....i think its japanese

  • sign me up for the next gen model -_-

  • @kenthedizzl It had a Yosh 2-1 exhaust on it... It also had the sv1000 stickers replaced with SV650 ones... It freaked out some guys on 600's and 750's I rode with...

  • Beautiful wheelie! Is this a 650 or 1000?

  • how did you get your sv to get up in 3 and 4 did you change sprockets. is it 1000 or 650

  • +1 in the front with a 520 conversion. Its all about getting your timing just right and bouncing it up.
