Why did he drive in arcade mode with bloody directions popping up? The whole point with a racing sim is that it should be as difficult as the real thing. Only then can it be a rewarding experience.

And I definitely agree that America isn't the only country that isn't 'retarded'. However, countries still have their own 'personalities' due to media influence etc. And unfortunately your country has a bad reputation in regard to immaturity and selfishness.

However to someone else they may find it a high quality, polished game and would not play anything else.

That statement is clearly misinformed and inaccurate. When you find a console with 2gb of graphics, 8gb or ram and a decent cpu, tell me. On top of that a pc can do so much more than just play games, thats the point everyone is trying to make. Each console has it's advantages, and with pc its flexibility and pure performance...
Shift 2 PC version has better graphics than any console racer, even though it isn't the best in terms of game play and physics. R-Factor, I-Racing & and Live for Speed are better in that department. Also try playing Crysis, DX10 Crysis 2 DX11, Arma 2, BF3, Metro 2033 all at 1920x1080 or above and then go eat your words. :)
I just upgraded to a -i5 2500k, Asus P8Z68-V LX, 8GB Mem and it only cost me £199 which isn't that much, as I sold my old Q6700 cpu, mobo for £140. Worth every penny. :)
Why does everyone rave about PC specs and games over those of the consoles? This looks shockingly awful in almost every way and I am led to believe it is one of the top end PC racing games? And dont go saying "its all about the physics" because they look terrible too!
@tommyt456 First of all this game is old , its from 2006. Second of all , just because u played NFS Shift doesent mean u know damn anything about physics. And everybody says that the top PC racing simulator is Live for speed , go check it out.

@WilDeRSkillZ And the point I was making was primarily with regards to graphics, PC gamers go on and on about PC's being more powerful graphically and in other ways which I know is true, but it seems that is only the case if you are constantly upgrading to the latest hardware. If you have a PS3 you don't ever have to upgrade to be able to get the most out of the latest games and having watched some gameplay videos of LFS as you suggested it significantly lags behind the graphics consoles produce

He got within seconds of his virtual time. He was unprepared and not the fittest human being, but because he knew how the car handled in the game driving it in real life came to him easily...
@tommyt456 I don't know about the console/PC thing, but GTR isn't about the graphics. It's about being a proper sim. It does unfortunately have an arcade mode (which I believe was used making this video), but in simulation mode with all the aids turned off it is actually a fantastic game. I played the predecessor a bit, and I can tell you three hours of intense concentration at Spa, including one hour with poor visibility, is a challenge. I've never seen a proper sim on a console.

Yes, a good simulator, but why don't you tell these people how our forums (official iRacing forums) are filled with complaints and requests to correct the many problems the sim has? The OTM was somewhat weak in regards to tire physics; the NTM preview was a good step forward, the final NTM release was almost a total disaster. Tell these people THAT. Tell them about odd or weak aerodynamics. Tell them about rocket physics and odd damage.

Its a simulation, but you're driving it like an arcade action racer. If you prefer this you should take something like Need for Speed. Your driving style in GTR2 only works on low realistic level (no car damage).

man i got a better simulation game for you even though i loved GTR2.get IRacing its awesome and physics and graphics are really great man.when you hit someone on there its better then GTR2s hitting in the rear against the comps but your not racing comps your racing online with everyone around the world on there

@Numbah893, why don't you fanboys give it up? iRacing? Yes, a good simulator, but why don't you tell these people how our forums (official iRacing forums) are filled with complaints and requests to correct the many problems the sim has? The OTM was somewhat weak in regards to tire physics; the NTM preview was a good step forward, the final NTM release was almost a total disaster. Tell these people THAT. Tell them about odd or weak aerodynamics. Tell them about rocket physics and odd damage.

There are a lot of mods, tracks, cars, setups etc.

Its a simulation, but you're driving it like an arcade action racer. If you prefer this you should take something like Need for Speed. Your driving style in GTR2 only works on low realistic level (no car damage).
Nevertheless nice game and nice video. :)
