  • he used my 1903 and shot a nice 500 yd score at our annual pilgramage to warnnambool ,he a good marksman with a collection of shit rifles LOL ;-)

  • I just recently got my hands on a Berthier 1916 with 'N' upgrade. An havent fired it yet. Im taking mine to a gunsmith to make shure its safe to fire, its pretty beat to hell an got signs of rust. But for 80 bucks its a sturdy rifle. Im missing the forward iron sight an nosecap w/ stacking hook tho. Im pretty shure its a descent rifle, obviously it can hit something. I own a 1939 Mossine Negaunt so i got that to compare it to so far, an yes i have fired a 1943 Lee Enfield before great rifle.

  • "Looks like crap shoots like crap ;-)"

The Carbine or the shooter? ;-)

I've go an M1892 and it shoots quite well, not as good as my K98k, but still accurate

  • Got any extra 3 round clips?

  • i have the same rifle, what type of ammo do i need to fire it????

  • @skaggs321

If you have the chance of owning a Berthier M1892 (or 1892 M 1916), the ammo you're looking for is the 8x50mm R, also known as 8 mm Lebel. (Internet is your friend ^^ ;-) )

  • Lol, French piece of crap. Lee-Enfield & Mauser for the win.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Have you personally tried it ot is it some irrational German superiority/anti-French feeling/prejudice you are expressing?

  • @wollin20 No, I'm not hating on the French, I'm just saying that Mauser & Enfield are clearly better rifles, they are much more significant in history and more successful which instantly makes them better.

  • @TaZ101SAGA

Better than the Berthier featured in this vid ? Maybe. Have you had the chance to shoot all of the three ?

  • @Briselance No, I haven't, but I don't need to. Mauser & Enfield are clearly a better rifle than this.

  • @TaZ101SAGA

Mauser and Enfield are clearly better rifles ? How can you know if you haven't used all of the three ? How can you say it without knowing each one of these rifles ?

Maybe you've read some serious accounts of how those rifles fared in combat, or had the chance to talk with veterans.

  • @Briselance I've never seen this rifle on the top ten, its practically never mentioned in documentaries, it never comes up in conversations I have with fellow shooters etc. If it was oh so great and a fantastic rifle, I'm pretty sure it'd be more famous, don't you think? I'm sure its an ok rifle in the right hands, but despite what your opinion may be, the Mauser and Enfield ARE better rifles, they are more successful in combat and most modern bolt-actions are influenced by Mauser, its better.

  • Very nice !

    is an amazing rifle!!!

  • 500 yds ,he can shoot the rifle cant

  • What distance are you shooting at? Nothing wrong with your technique, but I bet the bore on that thing looks like a shotgun!!

  • when i see the grand master i will ask him ,where off to a big shoot at bendigo ,so i will see him there

  • @TVCSD yep $25 a pop

  • Know where I can find a 3 round clip for one?

  • well at least it's better than the st etennie or whatever the french had before this

  • french rifle=good rifle

  • As long as she dosnt smell or taste like crap then shes all sweet :-) lol a neat old piece of history thanks for sharing

  • Rifle with a carbine bolt?

  • tell him to throw that french rubbish in the bin and get a swedish or swiss rifle ha ha . cool vid

  • @idgewe Nothing wrong with the Berthier.

  • @Gungeek im sure they are fine rifles :-)
