  • I like this one better.

  • Honestly, this is the best QOTSA album, this and EV, they're fucking nailing it all to something solid, and EV i think is the best one after, it's a bugged out , freaked up, QOTSA, ssomething different, a grower, the more listens the more zombified you get by it's efffects, dude QOTSA rules rock n roll.

  • @loosegoose999 I totally agree. Their first and last are their best albums, not only for the songs but the flow of the albums. I still love all of the albums though.

  • still listening to this in 2012. fuck yes.

  • sounds like iggy pop's - i wanna be your dog?

  • should be a cowbell intro, other than that wicked tune

  • @abshap9 FUCKOFF WITH THE COWBELL

  • This was recorded in Seattle Washington at Iron Wood Studio. Vic the stick on Drums. Van Conner on Bass and Chris Goss producing. Johnny was there hanging out and got drunk.

  • i think your lyrics are wrong. instead of "you blow my mind cause your so pretty girl;those long long days of no escaping" I think it's "you know my mind can get so crazy; those long long days just make it hazy" your lyrics might be right by qotsa studio standards. but this is the split ep of qotsa/kyuss and there are two versions of this song. i could be wrong but i'm just playing it by ear

  • the real queens... not what they do post oliveri

  • @pattonPwr well...this is pre-oliveri...so....by that logic it's not "real" queens either.

  • @portugahbk Oliveri didn't play on the first album so by that logic the first album isn't real Queens haha

  • @freelancefiend66 It's all queens....a guy that posted before me was the one that was trying to make a distinction between 'real' and not real queens...whatever that means.

  • @portugahbk right on man, yeah that makes no sense haha

  • awesome song!

  • i dig this version

  • its amazing how this song starts low then it grows all over ur brains till u cant stop listening to it anymore....

  • Matt Cameron played drums for this???? He is seriously been everywhere!

  • Man, I had this split but dropped and it smashed. That was a real kick to the sack let me tell you.

  • qotsa and kyuss cant be split they areof the same ilk stoner rules listen and learn!!

  • does anyone know where the split ep version of Born to Hula is? its from this same EP that they shared with Kyuss? ive seen it on youtube but i dont see it anymore

  • Ah The Kyuss/Queens album, a gem in itself. Would kill to own a physical copy of it.

  • the past can saturate my mind to where it's distracting to every faset of my life

  • Apart from the vocals, I think I prefer this version over the album one. But seriously, they're both effin' great

  • i think i prefer the version on queens s/t album its seems to flow better.

  • I prefer this version better...

It's a half step lower, and I think it sounds better that way. :)

  • My friends band essentially re wrote this song then I owed them this song and they were really pissed

  • I think I like this version better than the one on the first qotsa record

  • @Heuh999 nooooooooooooooo. well could you direct me to somewere i can either get that song or this whole album?

  • @lebowskithebig there's this version, the version on the QotSA album, and theres another version on the QotSA rarities album. you might of heard the rarities version.

  • the lyrics are wrong

  • I like this version better. It just sounds more raw to me and I like it :)

  • The intro reminds me a lot of something Nirvana might play. Great song.

  • @lebowskithebig there is another version it is on their self titled album its only called if only

  • oooooo buen tema

  • my favorite kyuss song

  • QOTSA

  • but kyuss have done a version of it too

  • @darthsony123 where? the kyuss/qotsa split ep is qotsa's original version, not kyuss.

  • search for their album black jewler and there it is i can even give the song to you if you want just pm me

  • @darthsony123 this isnt by kyuss, this is qotsa. one split ep, two different bands.

  • not sure which version i better, like the heavier bass line for this but the 2nd version the vocals are clearer

  • Wow. Love this version.

  • i love it!

  • I like this version better, actually. The bass line is heavier. =)

  • i agree... much easier to identify the kyuss lineage... by the time the second version rolled out, qotsa's sound had sterilized

  • Josh's version is better. you can't hear the guy singing

  • Finally got a bootleg of this. By far and away a better version that the second QUOTSA one.

  • This was made with Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age. QOTSA later remind it in there first album.

  • If you like QOTSA and Eagles Of Death Metal and Dave Grohl...... then check out them crooked vulchers album comes out his month nov17th. It's awesome!

  • @themisseslink I think it's awesome they got John Paul Jones from fucking Led Zeppelin to join them. They're the closest thing to a true superband we've had in a long time.

  • Kyuss originally did this song did they not? But josh didn't sing for kyuss... is this a rough take?

  • No, it has nothing to do with Kyuss except it was recorded just after the band's breakup

  • @Heuh999 nothing to do with kyuss?? but its on the same record as 3 kyuss songs, bro?

  • @sdhjtge That, "bro", is the purpose of a split EP. Two different artists on one CD. Hence the designation "split".

  • @Heuh999 .....then that means it DOES have something to do with kyuss, it was on a split ep with kyuss, fool!

  • @sdhjtge I meant it's not DIRECTLY related to Kyuss. QOTSA in itself is related to Kyuss because of Josh... We could even go deeper into the subject and suppose that such abstract and philosophical topics as the Genesis of the Universe, the unnecessary presence of olives on pizzas or Jersey Shore are related to Kyuss.

    "We're nothing at all... "

  • @Heuh999 made my day.

  • @Heuh999 Can you hear Goss on vocals? I'm sure I can. dude i'm pretty high, but i think i can..

  • @Heuh999 like the despise you and agrophobic nosebleed split

  • @Johnathangriffin22 this version of the song was on a split with kyuss, that queens did

  • @Johnathangriffin22 you're right, there are two versions, both of them by QOTSA, though. This version is on the Kyuss/QOTSA split EP. It's also on their first album "Queens of the stone age", under the shortened title "If only" which is also on youtube, but this won't let me post the link)

if you ask me the biggest difference between them is the name :)

  • @Niamic the lyrics are slightly different too.

  • I thought rock was dead, then I heard QotSA

  • If you think QOTSA's dead, then listen to Kyuss

  • already heard them.

Im a huge fan of Josh Homme, ive heard everything he's done from Desert Sessions to Eagles of Death Metal

  • Forgot about Them Crooked Vultures!

  • @Skatermandudeguy If you love flat out good rock, Hellacopters, give them a listen.

  • Yeah I do prefer this version but it's virtually impossible to find a CD copy of this release.

  • what happened to vic the stick?

  • @cultcat0711 I was wondering that myself, I've tried looking him up its hard to find anything on him.

  • eBay, man.

  • kyuss-kyuss-kyuss 90s are not dead!

  • are you sure with the lyrics? I understand "Those long, long days is making me lazy" but I'm german perhaps I'm wrong ;)

  • I like the main riff more on the self titled, but something about this solo is sooooo much better than the self titled version

  • this is original version and much better than albumn!!

  • nothin at all!!class act all together!!kyuss to queens oh what is better?

  • one of my "deserted island" songs

  • This version is a little more raw. The QOTSA album version is a little more studio and crisp.

    Cool though!

  • i like the album version more

  • reminds you not i wanna be your dog???

  • No, but the intro of Better Living does.

  • It does now that i think of it

  • I prefer this one.Its clearer.

  • its more kyuss-esque

  • Absolutely flawless!!!

just like the one on the Queens of the Stone Age album.......

    (φ.Φ)

  • i cant decide whats better? ; this version or the queens of the stoneage version???

  • i like to listen to this when i'm in the mood for some "spiders and vinegaroons" or kyuss' cover of black sabbath's "into the void." thanks for the post.

  • i wish they played this at my prom

  • overall i prefer the other version but occasionally i'll be more in the mood for this one. it's more raw and rough than the one on their self titled which is why i like it better at times, but also why i prefer the one on "queens" most of the time. the other is kind of rough but in a nice crisp and clean way, if that makes any sense to you.

  • this version is fuckin sick

  • Never heard this version before (or was aware it was on this rare EP). Interesting, but the debut album version is the better version for sure. Still thanks for posting!

  • i like the guitar, very nirvanaish... all around great song :)

  • no the other versions better

  • One of QotSA's only good songs. Their music on this split with kyuss is good because it has josh homme on vocals and still retains most of the musical style of kyuss that made it so good. Later QotSA stuff is just too soft for me.

  • In fact, QOTSA plays a kind of pop today.

It's nice pop (I love it) but I understand you.

  • It's not pop at all...it's still very much Desert rock. ... I find it hard that pop songs would include alot of psychedelic influence with Dark Melodics.

  • It ain't pop, neither desert rock (you can tell Kyuss was desert rock, but QOTSA?). Imo QOTSA have made their own unique sound over the years, which will probably evolve on the next album.

I can't really define what kind of music they're doing now, but you know, Homme never messes with that...

  • "Robot Rock."

  • I like this version, more rougher around the edges.

  • I agree, this is the better version.

  • shit! i'd never heard this version before. it's fucking awesome. love the different solo and fuzzier guitar effect. this is like a properly stoner rock version of the qotsa song. well done for the posting this vid!

  • NoslnMyVeins, you're stupid, check your facts before you start talkin shit about stuff you know nothing about.

  • bandant !

  • cool! =)

  • Please see the info right to the vid before posting useless comments.

Oh, and if you're not deaf you can even hear the difference between the two versions.

  • its ''if only everything'' dumb ass..clearly must b deaf...love this version..thanx 4 the upload Heuh999

  • lol, dumbass...

  • awesome lyrics

  • if by a little better you mean a little longer; its almost identical...

  • the first solo is a little better then in the qotsa version from queens of the stone age lp

  • oh, that is a shame.

    thanks though : )

  • wow

he like, slurrs his words lol

but still a pretty good song :)

do you know if this album is still in stores?

  • No, it's out of print and probably won't be re-released. The QOTSA album is also out of print but should be released again (with rare bonus tracks it would be amazing).

    Yeah I know, it's a shame :(

    That's why there's the Internet.

  • I believe my uncle has both of these albums, I know once he was saying that the QOTSA album was very hard for him to find.

  • dont forget ebay, thats where i got it from, and its fucking sweeeeet

  • this is just an old ep release that's been long out of print; if you want a better quality version of this song and another awesome 10 tracks then you need to buy their first album called 'queens of the stone age'. I'm British and it's easy to get the album here, even from music stores, but if you're american I've heard it's quite hard to get. Good luck if you are.

  • The splitalbum is very hard to find indeed, and so is the first album of queens of the stone age. I bought mine in a common music store 3 years ago (in Norway), and I've never seen it in stores again. Ever.
