If by informed you mean deluded then yes I agree. Ron Paul has relatively few supporters but almost every single one of them is a fanatic who see him as a messiah whether the admit it or not. I really believe it is the message more than the messanger that the fans love about Paul. Yes, his fans are crazy about him, but not in the same way people were crazy about Reagan, who had the charisma. Paul is special because his political positions are special. Fred is more of a conservative overall than any other candidate. Im not too happy with some of Fred's past actions but his stance on the issues is flawless with few exceptions. He is against abortion (believes it should be left to the states). Voted for the 2nd Ammendment every time, and also supports less spending, enforcing immigration laws, and a strong but reasonable foreign policy.Thompson made the debates more interesting with his straight talk.

-Against renewing the Patriot Act
-Against the Death Penalty
-Weak on Crime overall
-Liberal on drugs and legalization of meth.

WE definitely do NOT need to renew the wrongly named patriot act. It is against our civil liberties. We have to stop giving government more power. We are becoming more and more a military state.
I ask again, how exactly has the Patriot Act personally violated your civil liberties. Believe you me, the ACLU is foaming at the mouth over any chance they get to take the issue to court. So far its still considered to be within the bounds of what the Constitution allows. Legally unless the Supreme Court declares something unconstitutional, then it is considered to be Constitutional. The Patriot Act is therefore Constitutional.
i dont think you understand how things work, the supreme court does not look at cases that are unconstitutional unless they are brought in front of them, they dont go looking for cases of unconstitutionality. So the ACLU that you seem to hate are the ones that will bring it to the court that will decide whether or not the PATRIOT ACT is unconstitutional, you should be thanking them.
I know that the court cannot rule things unconstitutional unless a case is brought to them. It is Judicial Review, not Judicial Overview. Even so organizations like the Athesist...I mean "American" Civil Liberties Union would seize upon the first case they could that related to the Patriot Act if they thought they could get it declared unconstitutional.
The law still states that only the Supreme Court, not you or I, can rule something unconstitutional. Therefore the Patriot Act is currently Constitutional.

If by informed you mean deluded then yes I agree. Ron Paul has relatively few supporters but almost every single one of them is a fanatic who see him as a messiah whether the admit it or not. Ron Paul would make a fairly good peace time President but we need someone who can win the War on Terror and Paul's cut and run strategy combined with his refusal to even address the problem of Terrorism tells me that he is simply too weak to be Commander in Chief.

I really believe it is the message more than the messanger that the fans love about Paul. Yes, his fans are crazy about him, but not in the same way people were crazy about Reagan, who had the charisma. Paul is special because his political positions are special. He's against the CFR, Fed Reserve, IRS, premptive wars. All those positions are refreshing to a lot of people. It's what he represents, not the representer.

The CFR is a little more than another interest group, but perhaps some people make too much out of its influence. The IRS is a symptom of a larger problem, which is big government. As for Ron Paul, he would make this war last longer. If we win in Iraq then we move closer to winning the overall War on Terror and thus move closer to peace. If we lose in Iraq, which we will if Ron Paul were to pull us out of there, then the War would last loner and would likely demand us to go back and fight in Iraq again against an even stronger enemy.

Please dont compare Fred Thompson to Michael Moore Jr...I mean Al Gore. Only similarities they have is that they are both from Tennessee, and they are both Politicians. Thats pretty much it...oh yes and they are both male human beings.

Fred is more of a conservative overall than any other candidate. Im not too happy with some of Fred's past actions but his stance on the issues is flawless with few exceptions. He is against abortion (believes it should be left to the states). Voted for the 2nd Ammendment every time, and also supports less spending, enforcing immigration laws, and a strong but reasonable foreign policy.Thompson made the debates more interesting with his straight talk.
Vote Fred Thompson 2008 and 2012!!!

On Social issues Ron Paul is more conservative I will grant you that, but notice I said more "Conservative Overall".
Ron Paul has a few major areas where he loses points with me. He is:
-Against renewing the Patriot Act
-Against the Death Penalty
-Weak on Crime overall
-Liberal on drugs and legalization of meth.
-Very Weak on Terrorism (He wants to simply do away with all the security measures we have implemented over the past half decade without providing and alternative plan)

WE definitely do NOT need to renew the wrongly named patriot act. It is against our civil liberties. We have to stop giving government more power. We are becoming more and more a military state.

I ask again, how exactly has the Patriot Act personally violated your civil liberties. Believe you me, the ACLU is foaming at the mouth over any chance they get to take the issue to court. So far its still considered to be within the bounds of what the Constitution allows. Legally unless the Supreme Court declares something unconstitutional, then it is considered to be Constitutional. The Patriot Act is therefore Constitutional.

i dont think you understand how things work, the supreme court does not look at cases that are unconstitutional unless they are brought in front of them, they dont go looking for cases of unconstitutionality. So the ACLU that you seem to hate are the ones that will bring it to the court that will decide whether or not the PATRIOT ACT is unconstitutional, you should be thanking them.

I know that the court cannot rule things unconstitutional unless a case is brought to them. It is Judicial Review, not Judicial Overview. Even so organizations like the Athesist...I mean "American" Civil Liberties Union would seize upon the first case they could that related to the Patriot Act if they thought they could get it declared unconstitutional.

The law still states that only the Supreme Court, not you or I, can rule something unconstitutional. Therefore the Patriot Act is currently Constitutional.

I wish we could afford to isolate ourselves from the world around us, but in the modern era this is not possible.
If we divorce from the world, our sovereignty will be gone faster.
America needs allies, and likeminded nations around the world - it is worth our while to assist people who oppose tyranny everywhere.

Maybe in March 1972 when Haggard was pardoned by then California governor Ronald Reagan, it was a mistake.
Haggard spent 15 years in San Quentin, the end of a long career of prison sentences and larcenies, burglaries, assaults, etc.
Time Magazine is looking for as many people as it can find to echo these sentiments - and they don't care where they get them.

Correction Fred Thompson's record is mostly Conservative, I will admit there are a few sploches on his record that I am not very pleased with but nothing that overshadows the fact that for all intents and purposes Fred Thompson is closer to being a 100% true Conservative than any candidate. Ron Paul is indeed Conservative with money I will give him that but unfortunately his weak foreign policy is weighing him down.

I am a Tennessean - Fred is the same now as he was then - very conservative.
But this is not a race for "most conservative" honors - but "best Presidential candidate" and on that score - Fred is tops.
