Impressive impressive!! touching when see a person make this smoot landning that could end up in total caos and all die but he land very good not the nosegear donw in the begining and when little slower-less friction heat-he pus down nose to make a stop =)
wow o.0 even with the nose wheel sideways losing his ability to turn he was still on dotted paint [dead on the center of the runway] when it stopped! .........this pilot deserves a Klondike bar!
how does landing a plane make him an "excellent" pilot, that is what they r paid to do, big deal the wheel was stuck, if u ask me, whoever made that support for the wheel is the real hero
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah but it didn't snap, which is why i say the person that made the wheel support is equally an excellent engineer. That doesn't mean that i don't think the pilots a hero. But i don't think this makes him an excellent pilot, he still landed it normally. If he didn't know it was jammed he still would've landed it just fine.
wow you ppl need to get a life, my last comment for this vid was like a month ago and your replying now? But yes your right, sorry the quality of the vid made it look like the front wheel touched down much sooner than it actually did. That still doesn't change my opinion because the wheel support still held out. I'm entitled to my own opinion so fuck off.

OK, ppl need to calm down, I'm not personally attacking the guy so i don't appreciate the hostility, i'm just saying, he did what he is paid to do, the wheel support would've held up whether he knew it was jammed or not thats all I'm saying so calm down. I'm not saying he's a bad pilot, he's probably a great pilot, but this, for me, isn't what demonstrates his piloting skill.
Actually he didn't use the reverse thrust. What he did was that he helt the nose up for as long as possible (until reaching about 60-70 knots) and used the main landing gear's diferential brakes to slow the plane down. The reverse thurst is used once all the landing gears are on the ground.
change the front landing gear, some brand new tires, and you're ready to go!

that shows how well the landing gears are built.

How it is possible that front landing gear turn itself sideways during the flight?
ardvark84 1 year ago
@ardvark84
This incident happens after the take off (electrical malfunktion) , the gear was not retracted (not possible in this position)
oiseautempete 9 months ago
@ardvark84 The front wheel was designed to stow sideways in the fuselage. Jet Blue flys Embraer 190's.
