Cross out "In God We Trust" (with ink) on every single bill that passes through your hands. Let's show them that we're here, and that we don't believe that BS. It's not illegal. Although federal law (18 U.S.C. § 333 and 18 U.S.C. § 475) prohibits defacement of currency, it specifies either "intent to render such bank bill...unfit to be reissued" or a "notice or advertisement", and no documented cases exist of prosecution for such action.
A beautiful presentation of truths that are rooted in Judeo-Christian beliefs and values.
America is twice blessed: (1.) Founding fathers (some of whom you quoted who were confessed agnostics) who could not ignore and sincerely acknowledged the overshadowing hand of divine providence intervening in the behalf American Liberty and Justice. (2.) People like you and I are guaranteed freedom to express our thoughts and dreams without fear of government reprisal or censorship. God Bless America!
"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT IN ANY SENSE FOUNDED ON THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION." (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams.)
There is a over whelming amount of reasons why our (Secular Government) should remove this unconstitutional quote from our money, (IN a GOD WE do not TRUST). Americans who live inside a Modern Secular Government will ignore your Aramaic God's request to have people put to death for working on the sabbath.
In 1966, the phrase "In God we Trust" was added to the Dollar Bill, should (In A Dead Middle Eastern Man We Trust As Our New God With Blind Faith) be removed from the American Dollar Bill? I would like to see Abraham Lincoln's QOUTE added on the back of The American Penny, (“The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long complicated statements of Christian dogma”), US President.
I guess that if a person is gullible enough to believe in invisible superhuman friends who have magical powers, that person could also believe that we all share their delusions. The reference to a god on our money should be removed, or at least changed to a truthful statement like "In a god or gods some of us trust." Truth, however, has never been much of an issue to hypocritical Christians.
historians dont even know if george washington was a christian, thomas jefferson and benjamin franklin were deists, john addams was a unitarian, and 3 others mentioned were christians. to me this points toward a nation of religious freedom moreso than a christian nation. keep in mind that god, allah, and yaweah are all different names for the same guy. the only thing that sets apart christians was jesus. what official US document mentions jesus? NONE! In freedom we trust!
"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity, in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."

"I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved-- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!"
We should all do a little soul searching about our famous motto. In the Bible, it states that “In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth”. That would mean that God created the North American continent, and all of its living creatres of life. Surely, God
did not approve of the oppression of his Native Americans.
We cannot be held responsible for the mis-deeds of our Founding Fathers, but we
could set the record straight with our motto, by changing it to read:
Many political factions use religion as a cover for medacious, unpricipled actions, and sanctimonious people are guilty of reprehensible behavior. America's Riligious Right promotes a state religion based on fundamentalist Evangelicalism, but has been recently exposed as hypocritical and lost power and reputation. Good character comes from compassion and respect, not often seen in Bible-thumpers.
@MrDominex "...for we see Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." (Bible) Don't judge Christianity on man, but on Christ. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Bible)
When we look at our own history... we see wars and struggle and yet.... in spite of our youth as a nation, it all seems like so long ago. In reality, all civilizations have been tested and this, brothers and sisters, is our time! Embrace this grand opportunity to have lived during our great awakening!! The USA will be stronger when this time of testing has passed. God Bless The United States Of America!!!
This motto wasn't accepted until 1956: "In these days when imperialistic and materialistic Communism seeks to attack and destroy freedom, it is proper" to "remind all of us of this self-evident truth" that "as long as this country trusts in God, it will prevail." ~ Eisenhower
In the end we prevailed from the godless communists, who in Russia and China alone killed over 130 million people. It's almost as if history was a fairytale between good and evil. Communism by nature is atheistic
There is no connection between atheism and communism. Developed nations like Japan, Sweden, France, Norway, and Netherlands are atheistic dominated nations, and those nations have less crime and murder then the US and have higher education standards. Also, those dictators didnt do the things they did because of atheism. People like Castro, Stalin, and Hitler wanted their people to worship them as a God. They used religion as a tool to control their people.
@BluePirate55: "Communism begins from the outset with atheism" -Karl Marx
Also, in Iran they have less crime than the United States. Does that mean that theocracies are more succesful than industrialized democracies, especially the longest lasting democracy in the world? Corellation/causation fallacies are laughed at, and you should be there with it.
Atheism is just the doctrine or belief that there is no God. That's it. It does not go into the realm of describing someones political or moral background. All of the countries that I said are all developed democracies like our country. Iran is not considered a developed country, and does not reach the same type of health and education standards like Japan or the Netherlands.
You know what's laughable? The fact that YOUR religion alone has killed more people than any communist country.
Do you have the intellectual humility that you were wrong about Atheism's relation to communism? If I were wrong, I would admit it, but you don't, you go straight to making another statement as if it never happened, I really abhor such sentiments like the one you're displaying, I pray for you.
Atheism by default presupposes metaphysicla naturalism, without God, you automatically go to a worldview of metaphysical naturalism.
"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator." -Adolf Hitler
Saying that Atheism and Communism are related is like saying that Christianity and Nazism are related. Just because Hitler was raised with Christian beliefs, does that mean that his political views embody the Catholic Church? Of course there's a difference between Nazism and Christianity, because they don't share the same beliefs. How is that I know this and you don't?
Hitler called Christianity 'a product of the Jews'. Jesus was a Jew, why would a Christian persecute a Jew if Jesus was a Jew, and when Jesus taught love your enemies? Any rational personal would see the fault in that. No, they are not the same, Nazism is a political theory which is supported by communist ideas and is supported by paganism not Christianity. Communsim and Atheism do share the same beliefs, METAPHYSICAL NATURALISM.
"why would a Christian persecute a Jew if Jesus was a Jew" - easy, the jews killed Christ, they ALL MUST DIE, also he was a big fan of the KKK who claimed Jesus was white.
lol, supported by paganism? that's laughable, Hitler himself and the majority of Germany at the time Nazism arose was christian.
oh God forbid, metaphysical naturalism...and maybe Hitlers mustache is responsible for him killing the jews.
Does a contradiction arise from this? Yes, but it is clear that Hitler was "fighting for the work of the Lord." I already stated that to say that his ideals embody Christianity is foolish, and same goes to Atheism and Communism. There are many forms of Naturalism, but they are all similar in the fact that each has a set of values and ideas in ethics. Atheism does not address the beliefs of how an ethical society can functionally work, but rather the nonexistence of a deity or the supernatural.
Also, you fail toawnser my question. You obviously made a corellation/causation fallacy and ignored my stating of it and not admit that you were wrong, I'm angered by the lack of intellectual humility new atheists have, arrogant snobs who are wrong and ignore what they've done wrong. Not to offend you, but you are.
I won't laugh at what you say, because I know what truth is. Atheism killed 110 million in an 80year time frame, that is more than all war and individual crime.
I thought that I humored your question. I told you that Iran is not considered a developed country, and does not reach the same type of health and education standards like Japan or the Netherlands. The reason why I made that statement was because you seem to make the argument that atheist dominated nations are corrupt or violent, which they arent. Japan is an industrialized democracy, like ours, that has a population in which the majority is atheist, and they dont embody any type of Communism.
i seem to make the argument? Where? Japan has the highest suicide rate in the world. Also, Atheism =/= Communism, but communism=atheism. Do you see the difference?
America has the highest unwed teen pregnancy rate and a distinctly high catholic prison population to total population count when compared with atheism.
The suicide rate in Japan has nothing to do with atheism. This statistic comes from the fact that many Japanese citizens face pressure from trying to maintain "family honor". From your comment on metaphysical naturalism, I have a better understanding of your point, but understand that today most advocates of metaphysical naturalism in first world countries are neither Marxist nor Objectivist, and instead embrace the more moderate political ideals of secular humanism.
Those "110 million people" that you claim were not killed because they solely believed in a God, and the majority of those communists who did commit murder were not motivated to kill because of a disbelief of a god(s). Although I can say for certain that there have been millions upon millions who have been killed in the name of YOUR god. The Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition, The Witch Trials, and the list pretty much goes on. Don't worry, I'll think for you.
What anyone has said, even in the Bible, cannot be trusted just because someone said so; we need to compare all beliefs with what is demonstrably real and true. There are reasons for faith and reasons to reject the hand-me-down beliefs of our ancestors. What we believe now must stand on current knowledge or it cannot be maintained, and quoting our ancestors does not aid us in understanding what is true or false. It only shows what we believe whether it is true or not. kkolani, Reality Quest
Take heart vasiliosrigos. Mercy precedes judgement!
So then, do not summon a funeral dirge; A GREAT AWAKENING is mounting, the SLEEPING GIANT is being aroused; GOD HAS BLESSED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Be grateful that blood was spilled, for tears were shed, and sweat has poured out from the brows of the brave.
THE SEED OF TRUTH will surely yield THE HARVEST OF FREEDOM, where fertile plains & fruitful fields abound.
It saddens me so every time I watch this video. All the great men with Gods blessings built a great nation only to see it all being destroyed because we as a people decided we did not need God or His laws anymore.Come Jesus, come quickly
the separation of church and state is a christian principle. "give unto ceasar what belongs to ceasar. give unto god what belongs to god". our constitution doesn't guarantee us from religion. the constitution guarantees us freedom to worship how we please.
@geargemartin ahhhh so this is a satanist nation as much as a christian nation. i get it. it doesnt matter what you worship, as long as you worship. no illogic there. lol. and I know how the history of christanity shows that its primary concern is religious freedom. they never had laws against blasphmy, right? no one was ever burned or imprisioned for heresy, right? the crusades just never happened, right? what history book have you been reading? I worship logical thought. whats wrong with that?
@geargemartin so you couldnt come up with an actuall refutation of any point I made so you attack the presentation. You really showed me! I guess That here in america i am not free to not believe in god, so i will just leave to make room for more islamics. have a nice day, and I wish the best for you.
@SuperAthiest1 Yep, I guess you do like to rant. Worship as you will, I don't care. Free will prevails. In saying that, my original comment is historically competent. Google Anabaptist persecution in the Zurich Canton of Switzerland in the 16th century. Religion belongs to the realm of that which is spiritual. Government belongs to the realm of the which is temporal.
In god we trust? Unconstitutional and should be removed. Infact, we can trust this god so much he allowed our enemies to kill our citizens on 9/11. The founding fathers wanted the seperation of church and state, you betray their constiutional values.
'God' if such a thing exists is a vindictive terrorist and an enemy of the U.S.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him
20-21 Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God
Thank you for posting this video. I love the quotes in it and it has inspired me to learn about our Founding Fathers and the rich Judeao-Christian history of our nation.
For example, in the Capitol's Chapel is a stained glass window depicting George Washington in prayer under the inscription "In God We Trust." Also, a prayer is inscribed in the window which says, "Preserve me, God, for in Thee do I put my trust"
The phrase "wall of separation between church and state" is not written in the 1st Amendment of the Constitution.
Thomas Jefferson wrote the phrase "wall of separation between church and state" in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802 in answer to a letter written by them in October 1801 where they complained that in their state, the religious liberties they enjoyed were not seen as immutable rights but as privileges granted by the legislature as 'favors granted'.
'God' if such a thing exists is a vindictive terrorist and an enemy of the U.S.
SayNo,
God is Holy and Just. God gave all people free will. God gave us the choice [free will] to love Him by keeping His commandments. If everyone lived by God's commands there would not be any wars, murder, stealing [evil] in this world.
Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world due to Satan's pride & lies. And until Jesus returns to set up God's kingdom--- there will be evil acts on earth.
@SayNoToIslamofascism God isn't the one causing this wars and fights we are, you just blinded by what you hear or see but you don't know anything in reality. God does exist and soon you will realize hopefully its not to late, for you sins to be forgiven. Islams religion is only based on conquer and war thats all they know thats all they will do. most people don't even know there own fate, you cant blame them there parents from generations have thought them that all we could do is pray.
Proverbs 18, verses 20-21, "Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction. The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences."
We must get back to basics. Our core basics. What made our country so great?
In our countryS history, our forefathers had wisdom & insight observing other governments decided that we, the people, should protect ourselves from our own government. They knew there'd be greed & power that could corrupt men's souls.
We therefore can NOT give up our rights, NONE of them! We must fight for these rights as our forefathers fought for them.
Guns for example. Take them away & we're open to genocide.
@TheBuysellhomes > THINK ABOUT THAT
Obviously, you are not familiar with the practice of thinking.

@SuperAthiest1 Rant much?
geargemartin 9 months ago
@geargemartin so you couldnt come up with an actuall refutation of any point I made so you attack the presentation. You really showed me! I guess That here in america i am not free to not believe in god, so i will just leave to make room for more islamics. have a nice day, and I wish the best for you.
SuperAthiest1 9 months ago
@SuperAthiest1 Yep, I guess you do like to rant. Worship as you will, I don't care. Free will prevails. In saying that, my original comment is historically competent. Google Anabaptist persecution in the Zurich Canton of Switzerland in the 16th century. Religion belongs to the realm of that which is spiritual. Government belongs to the realm of the which is temporal.

@geargemartin All I am saying is that this nation was built on the principal freedom, not to perpetuiate any religious view. do you dissagree?

In god we trust? Unconstitutional and should be removed. Infact, we can trust this god so much he allowed our enemies to kill our citizens on 9/11. The founding fathers wanted the seperation of church and state, you betray their constiutional values.
'God' if such a thing exists is a vindictive terrorist and an enemy of the U.S.

John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him
20-21 Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God

interviewwithgod,
My 1st reply was meant for SayNoIslamfascism.
Amen!

He said it's unconstitutional. Instead of quoting people, answer his freaking argument.

1st Ammendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
or Abridging The Freedom of Speech
or of the press
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble
and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

SayNo,
God is Holy and Just.

@BLESSEDone333, " In god we trust" It's funny if you think about that phrase... It's put right where "god" would want it. On our money!
