I got a g4 from ebay and that also has leopard on it, They installed it via something called leopard assist.

I would have preferred tiger on it, but it actually runs leopard fine! can't play youtube on it tho!

If u think ur job and how u can increase ur production, money, fun etc it really doesnt matter which computer starts up faster. There are many other "tests" which really are as important as horses shit in the puddle. PCfanboys see always Windows as a winner and Macfanboys see Mac OS as a winner. U can choose slow Mac against fast PC = PC wins. Or slow PC against fast Mac = Mac wins. If PC make some function 5-10 seconds faster or vise versa does it really matter?

I dont get this pointless video.. only thing the pc lost at was the shutdown part? You waited with every step untill both were ready.. If the pc was slower but with double the specs Im guessing its because you had all effects on (aero) but few if any on the mac.

@s4ace It's just running the default config.. Leopard and 7 both have transparency effects, and adding a texture to a 2D or 3D object in the UI. For leopard, it's the dock that has the reflection, windows has a 'reflection' texture as well, but it's just a few stripes. Aero has 3d animations for closing and opening, so both are similar in amount of GPU required. This test doesn't make much of a difference, because the real performance test is in games.

Pretty fast for Leopard on that machine, because it isn't really supported on G4s less than 867MHz. My iMac G5 2.0GHz works great on it, but it is indeed very smart to put Tiger back on it. (BTW, why did Apple drop support for PowerPC with Snow Leopard?)

Diferent SO... You can't really compare them. Also, Apple made the hardware AND the sofrware, while in the laptop the hardware and software where made by different companies, and that's a big diffrence.

the thing about leopard is when you want it to shut down, my macbook does it in like 3 seconds. at first i was worried something was wrong, but i was clearly taken aback by the insanely fast shut down. :)

WIndows 7 is alot better OS than Vista was. Still love my Snow Leopard though. Gotta have respect for Vista though as it opened alot of eyes to Macs. Mac is now at the level I wanted it to be, just popular enough to be supported with decent programs.

The main factor on booting is the harddrive, you facing a 2.5inch 5400rpm one against a 3.5inch 7200rpm. I think windows 7 shines in this one considering.

Ummm... that iMac is running a 5400rpm drive. The G4 is underpowered in every way compared to that laptop. On paper, it should loose to the laptop but it hangs in there the whole way. Would you like to see the same laptop boot Ubuntu against it instead?
