  • Thank you for producing this video of the last days of the Adelphi Theater in Rogers Park. This video advocates the preservation of our history, not only in Rogers Park or Chicago, but everywhere. I know many who have watched this video agree that the demolition of the Adelphi Theater was a tragedy that should never be swept under the rug or forgotten. We should learn from this and hold those who disregard the importance of our history and culture responsible. Especially on election day.

  • I spent huge portions of my childhood at the Adelphi, 400, Devon and Granada theaters. It was an amazing time to be a kid in Rogers Park.

When I was 7yo I remember walking to the Adelphi w/my older brother to see a first run showing of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It was during the fall and there was an early snow. Magnificent memories.

Thanks for taking the time to film at the Adelphi.

How sad Rogers Park is quickly turning into another cookie cutting slice of generica.

  • The Adelphi, built in 1917 for the Ascher Brothers circuit, was designed by local architect J.E.O. Pridmore. The theater stood on Clark Street at Estes Avenue in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood.
