It makes me smile to see that Gerard Way is being really accepted, recognized and respected as a writer within the comic industry, instead of just being seen as the rock star who can do what he wants.
@murpy When you think about it, that had been his dream before being in a band. He's not a musician gone writer, he's a writer gone musician. He went to art school way before he started the band.
@catdemonninja Yeah I'm aware of all that, but because his success within music happened before his success with comics, he could easily be misinterpreted as the rockstar who felt like doing comics, especially to people who aren't aware of his background in art school etc. :)
I was surprised at how much I liked Umbrella Academy. No matter how sad or psychotic the characters are, I care about what happens to them.
While I never liked the character of Hellboy, I LOVE the stories! Hellboy seems like his only role is to survive and resolve the tales. But the stories are so well written, with equal grounding in pulp fantasy and myths and legends, I can't stop reading them!
John Siuntres really is a fan and though it may seem that he pours it pretty heavy he really does mean what he says. If you listen to him on the podcasts on Wordballoon or his guest spots on Around Comics you see he's a pretty sincere guy.
so what, if you get to interview a guy you have respect for and admire, I see no real reason why you shouldn't get to show it, especially since this isn't a hard hitting news reporter
he went to a MCR concert!!!.. awesome haha....

He reminds me a little of Chris Farley when he did his interviews on SNL. Just a little. Not a bad thing.
