A couple of weeks ago the Rachel Maddow did a segment on why the Republicans were attacking the Unions and certain coporations that help fund the democratic party. A couple of weeks ago the Rachel Maddow did a segment on why the Republicans were attacking the Unions and certain coporations that help fund the democratic party. You can not just look at polls, but must analyze them critically and also you can not assume that the people being polled know best when you ask them these kinds of questions. There are a lot of dumb americans and in certain instances could have interpreted these questions in a different way than the intended purpose. The results cover all possibilities too (ie, lowest number says 'and under,' higher number says 'and over.'). When you look at a percentage chart identifying the outcome, since you have a category for everyone to fall under (exclusively, without overlap) then you should be able to add up the percentage to equal 100%. Does that make sense to you? Read the comment before making posting, but you think Beck is smart, so...

Every part of the sample was accounted for but it doesn't add up to 100% when you look at the survey. Tell me about your fine statistics classes...I'm assuming that they had no problems with problems with this type of survey? They wouldn't find a blatant flaw in the outcome? Wow!

@chantervz Genius, the missing 15% is the statistical error. I don't understand why this is so difficult to comprehend. THE MISSING 15% IS THE STATISTICAL ERROR. 85 + 15= 100. Congratulations, you made yourself look even more uneducated. Google it if you still don't understand.

@bearkat0016 You're talking about margin of error. With margin of error, it's expressed "plus or minus x %." There is no margin of error in a poll, which is what this was. There's only a margin of error when predicting accuracy of a population based on a sample. With a poll, you state what percentage answered what. Even w/ a margin of error it would add to 100%, then it would say (+/- x %), you don't just add it in like you said. You never took statistics in school, don't lie.

@chantervz You say potato I say pototoh. LMAO I didn't? Ok buddy if you think so xD Seeing how this is Fox do you think they would put in a margin error/statistical error? Exactly. But you seem to keep missing the big issue: You say Beck is stupid when he's not. Does he get things wrong? Of course, but rarely. When something as minor as a "margin error" comes up, you claim that everything he says is uncredible because his chart did not specify the error. And yes polls have a "margin error".
