Thanks to right wingers and cons, Canada and Alberta owns none of it's oil.

Tommy Douglas saw the future. He tried to warn Canada, but right-wingers/ conservatives persuaded us to look the other way.

Yes he was right! He overcame a similar situation in Sask during his 17 yrs as premier. Why wouldn't the gov't want to keep the oil in the hands of a Canadian company and collect the royalties and the tax dollars created? I don't know that answer and I don't believe there would be a sweet enough deal for me to vote against my own country for the benefit of someone else. It would seem that any attempt to help the people is matched with those who only want to line their own pockets........
