*****Great song by Charlie Rich (?). Do you know Life's little ups and downs. My favorite song of him. I like to invite you to my BLUESCARTOONS on JIMMY REED & SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON II
We're all in awe of fretkillr, csason, but don't sell yourself short. I like the way you made it your own, embraced your own natural rhythm........every bit as good as fretkillr's, just a bit different in style.
I wish i could learn this song, had a couple a goes at it now, and get anywhere near it! it,s a great song, and you do a Great cover! "Very well picked and sung", my friend. 5***** to you!
what a pleasant suprise at your choice of song. I have always loved that song. Your style of playin' is very smooth and melodic, and your voice accompanies your playin' flawlessly. Great job!!!!!!
Beautiful! "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." This is why I come here to listen to the greats like you and FK. Thank you for sharing part of yourself.
Thanks Carly..(I like that name..) I worked a while to do this song..FK is a great inspiration, I hardly would equate us together..he is really good. Regards..
Salut mon ami, I'm a fan of Fretkillr ( Fret The Great ). I really love your version, good sound guitar, good voice. I love it because this is your own version, different, not just a copy.
I have always loved this song. Very nice version, man. Looking off into the Florida sunset, imagine this song would be real nice. Take it easy, CSAson. Deo Vindice
It took me a while to put it all together. Just learn the basic song without the finger work, then add pieces as you can. I have always really liked this song. The toughest part was learning to sing it, and play it, simultaneously.
I really don't why you haven't gone professional; be it that you enjoy playing on your own terms or what. However; I'm thankful to be able to watch and listen. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful talent with everone!!
hmmm some of the songs he does, I have been playing for years..I just liked this one, and he reminded me of it, and I finally sat down and learned it. Some of his stuff is not necessarily over my head, but I don't want to put the effort into it. I like slide.
this looks like a tuff one, with the guitar mimicking the vocals..still you did a great job....fretkiller's prowess is a lofty but noble goal for most of us brother ;o)*****
I know what you mean. There was one song I once posted "Saturday Night Special" I simply thought it was impossible to sing while playing it at the same time. It took me a while to get hang of it, eventually. I'll repost it soon. I wish things could be learned faster so we could enjoy them longer ;o)
Good job. I've been emulating the fretkiller on this one too(ie. learning to play it a la fretkiller). You do kind of a nice fretkiller/Danny O'Keefe conglomerate version.
Fretkillr would have been proud! Nice performance!

lol... Yeah.. I think fretkillr was not only born with a desire marrow deep, he took advantage of it, and worked his butt off to make it look easy.

Good job, i'm a big fan of Fretkillr. I d'ont know how you've been able to look at him and do the same chords. He is wayyy to fast for me lol
Any tabs for that ? Or chords ?
Well done !
sly221982 4 years ago
I don't know any tabs, I play by ear. The song here is done in G. So it's basically a G, C, D
progression, with a break for the chorus. Instead of D, you manipulate the D into a diminished D, then a D minor, then back to the G.
