And yes, FK is still The Man!

  • Very nice... I like your version... nice and relaxed.

  • We're all in awe of fretkillr, csason, but don't sell yourself short. I like the way you made it your own, embraced your own natural rhythm........every bit as good as fretkillr's, just a bit different in style.

    Cheers & 5's from YerDugliness

  • very nice well done....um im pretty sure fretkillr sold his soul to the devil

so its hard to judge yourself against him

  • lol... Yeah.. I think fretkillr was not only born with a desire marrow deep, he took advantage of it, and worked his butt off to make it look easy.

  • what a pleasant suprise at your choice of song. I have always loved that song. Your style of playin' is very smooth and melodic, and your voice accompanies your playin' flawlessly. Great job!!!!!!

  • Why Thank You ..!!

    Regards..

  • Very nice, thank you!

  • Good job! Thanks for sharing your talent.

  • Thank you very much..

  • Thankya Ma'am !

  • Beautiful! "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." This is why I come here to listen to the greats like you and FK. Thank you for sharing part of yourself.

  • Thanks Carly..(I like that name..) I worked a while to do this song..FK is a great inspiration, I hardly would equate us together..he is really good. Regards..

  • I was worried when it kicked off. But I was absolutely impressed with your voice and your guitar skill as well.

I play also and I give you props on how well you played... no buzzes or missed notes. Damn good.

  • Wow.. thanks sandman.

  • Salut mon ami, I'm a fan of Fretkillr ( Fret The Great ). I really love your version, good sound guitar, good voice. I love it because this is your own version, different, not just a copy.

Thank you brother, sorry for my bad english.

  • Your english is fine..Thank you.

  • I have always loved this song. Very nice version, man. Looking off into the Florida sunset, imagine this song would be real nice. Take it easy, CSAson. Deo Vindice

  • Hey chief, that was awesome! I love the song, never knew how to play it. Your version sounds clean and awesome! Thanks.

  • Chief.. it's been a while since I heard that one..;) It's one of my favorite 'terms of endearment'.. Thanks for the nudge.

  • Playin' for the world to hear... Super!

  • i love this tune man

fretkiller is one of my favs too

  • It is a cool tune..Danny O'Keefe done good. Even Chet and Jerry think so..

  • DUDE, this was awesome, loved it thanks.!!!*****

  • DUDE !!! thanks !!!

  • csason, nice version!!! Keep Postin!

  • Really good, nice voice :-)

  • really good job

  • Nice job. I like your voice.

  • I've always liked this song. Very nice rendition.

  • Thanks, i'm gonna practice.

    Sly,

  • It took me a while to put it all together. Just learn the basic song without the finger work, then add pieces as you can. I have always really liked this song. The toughest part was learning to sing it, and play it, simultaneously.

  • Good job, i'm a big fan of Fretkillr. I d'ont know how you've been able to look at him and do the same chords. He is wayyy to fast for me lol

Any tabs for that ? Or chords ?

    Well done !

  • I don't know any tabs, I play by ear. The song here is done in G. So it's basically a G, C, D

progression, with a break for the chorus. Instead of D, you manipulate the D into a diminished D, then a D minor, then back to the G.

  • pretty good buddy pretty good

  • Thanks

  • you´r really good ! keep going ! .. and haft to know , is it a martin you´r playing ? :)

  • yeah its a D28

  • I really don't why you haven't gone professional; be it that you enjoy playing on your own terms or what. However; I'm thankful to be able to watch and listen. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful talent with everone!!

  • Thanks..

  • Very GoooooooD!!! lb

  • Great to hear a Danny O'Keefe song ANYWHERE.

I'd love to hear you do 'The Road'.

  • hey I'm learning this song from fretkillr too. I'm working on a few of his covers. are you doing any others?

  • hmmm some of the songs he does, I have been playing for years..I just liked this one, and he reminded me of it, and I finally sat down and learned it. Some of his stuff is not necessarily over my head, but I don't want to put the effort into it. I like slide.

  • Sounds great!

  • Like your voice.

  • magnifique mon ami

  • Thanks David.. ;) GOod to hear from you

  • Nice One...lovely Guitar.

  • Thank you

  • this looks like a tuff one, with the guitar mimicking the vocals..still you did a great job....fretkiller's prowess is a lofty but noble goal for most of us brother ;o)*****

  • yes fretkillr is the man. Thanks for the comment.

  • Beautiful, Owen. This is a song on my agenda. Beautifully sung and played.

  • Thank you Wes. It is a cool song but very weird to learn..and then worse to sing with.

  • I know what you mean. There was one song I once posted "Saturday Night Special" I simply thought it was impossible to sing while playing it at the same time. It took me a while to get hang of it, eventually. I'll repost it soon. I wish things could be learned faster so we could enjoy them longer ;o)

  • Good job. I've been emulating the fretkiller on this one too(ie. learning to play it a la fretkiller). You do kind of a nice fretkiller/Danny O'Keefe conglomerate version.

  • Thanks.. I made a couple mistakes...it is a tough song, for me for some reason. Thanks for viewing.

  • very nice!
