what year is this from where they are calling in orders. Everything I do is on my computer. It's called a direct access broker. It costs a lot to use the platform but it cuts out the middle man. Why were these traders afforded the opportunity to trade with someone else's money anyway? And this chick is crazy. If every stock just went up up up, there would be no market. So youve never lost a trade? Think about that statement...Those technical patterns are just lines dude, they are as meaningless as fibs. Do you know how many commerical traders use technical patterns? None... They use the futures markets. And even then some of them are on the wrong side from time to time. Do you know why they are even using technicals? Because they are to stupid and green to use anything else, and the principal knows it.Thats why he has someone there to manage THEIR losses.

All these people who have trouble with selling short over morals. It's the exact same thing as selling when value appreciates. You don't feel "morally wrong" selling your house for a higher price do you? Aren't you profiting from someone's bigger loss? It's the same thing.

Needed some extra income, and with the way things are going in the world - it made sense to start learning how finance and economies work, so I can have some advantage over others who don't. I think we're in for a big cluster fuck as a world, so it was prudent that I learn how to either avoid it, or benefit from the events these days.

@zdrux yeah.. and there's also a disconnect between the shares and the actual company as well. The share price doesn't always represent the true value of the company.

The people who made the house where allready payed. I don´t know the english word but with short positions if you got much money you can invluentz the market and make a enemy take over of the company. You can punch other Companys in your sektor. that is the real meaning of hedging.

I think that some of the posts here, slightly miss the point of the series. When he says "its a disaster," he obviously means that it would be a disaster for this particular experiment - not that he's going to lose his shirt if the neophytes don't net a profit. This was always an experiment. Lex, is not trying to run an actual production level fund with total neophytes. That much should be abundantly obvious.

Obviously, he has the money to host such an experiment for the public to enjoy.
