  • Haha. Nice vid, thanks!

I love these little spiders. They're so cute and friendly. Smarter than you'd think too. We had one that was living under our end-table in the living room. She would stalk around the lamp for the occasional moth or mosquito that would wander in. Since they can't hurt humans, and they kill other bugs, they're at the top of my "don't kill" list.

  • 0:43 "Goodbye, friends!"

  • awesome video. great quality.

  • we have quite a few jumping spiders over here in england (mainly nail size ones) i found one in my shed a couple of weeks ago... i looked through the shed door and saw a male and female... so i stood back and watched.... they actually found a daddy long legs in there and nommed him (no joke!) i laughed so badly

  • eww arachnophoia

  • I like killing spiders in my room and leaving their dead body to warn other spiders, 'enter if you dare...'

  • i have one named George xD

  • what camera did you use? Very sharp.

  • i used to have one named sparky :)

  • It's crazy how spiders always shit me up, yet jumping ones are awesome.

It must be how they actually look around and move in a deliberate manner, rather than the suicide charge at your feet / face the bigger spiders tend to do.

If only all spiders acted like this they would have an easier time!

  • I used to play with them as a kid, we even had one living on a plant in the middle of the kitchen table we nicknamed "Hoppy"

  • Im guessing their diet is bacteria. what elss could they eat?

  • @alexmoskov flies.

  • @sh4p3shifter oh right, that two.

  • @alexmoskov They eat insects actually - they jump on their prey. They are excellent hunters (hence eyesight - which is thought to be the best out of arthropods).

  • @corpsemunger cool

  • Spider: WTF ARE YOU LOOKING AT!

  • THAT FUCKING THING LOOKED RIGHT AT ME!

  • fuck, why do i do this to myself?! i hate spiders! why do i watch these videos??

  • Yep a jumper cant mistake them due to their cute yet freakishly large eyes

  • At 0:41 he goes "Well I'm just gonna uh... look over there!"

  • @kevinplaysgames spiders are more than blood sucking creatures. they actually devour literally everything inside of bugs that is able to be broken down by the enzymes they produce. they make slushies of the insides of insects and slurp it all up not just the blood though i can see where u could initially assume that. though. jumping spiders are not dangerous at all to humans so dont fear them. i personally only fear black widows, brown recluse, sydney TD spiders, and colony spiders.

  • @SpeedFreakMRDJ I think you mean Sydney Funnel Web. Anywho, Jumping spiders are badass. I saw one at work today and it tried to attack me. I was gonna kill it but figured anything that awesome deserves to live.

  • My heart was beating so fast at the end and I was actually mouthing the words "its gonna jump it's gonna jump it's gonna jump!" I can't stand spiders. It's an irrational fear I know, but I have a bigger problem with blood sucking creatures and they are one of them. Plus those spindly legs...

  • He was most likely initiating a threat display at the end cos he'd have seen his reflection in the lense. Jumping spiders can differentiate shapes and objects better than any other spider and they actually respond to their mirror image. their vision is on par with some vertebrates. if males see their reflection they start a contest display that begins with front-leg raises. Or he may have tried to detect pheromones cos his chemoreceptors are on the front legs. amazing little creatures they are.

  • I was waiting for it to leap at the screen with my face like this D:

  • at 0:11 hes like "O hi i didn't see you there!"

  • 0:46 He wants you to show something

  • haha, jumping spiders look sooooooooo cute :)

  • i liked the part when it didnt jump -.-

  • 0:11 wolf spider is like "O Hai." XD its so cute

  • @raendril008 This little girl is a phidippus audax jumping spider. Wolf spiders are those kind that you see running around on the ground or in garages at times. They will usually be brown with a couple of black stripes on them. If you have ever seen a good size spider carrying an eggsac with her, that is a wolf spider.

  • @Torn80cj ohh snap XD im sorry. typo. ment to put jumping spider:P

  • @raendril008 You must have been watching some vids of wolf spiders also, I can see how that would happen to you. I've been looking at several different spider videos too, and seen several on wolf spiders.

  • the spider's like "I KILL YOU!!"

  • oh its so cuuuuuuute~~

  • Check out my video "funny spiders mating w/ music" I think you'd enjoy it :P

  • 0:12 :"What the Hell are you looking at?!"

  • oooo was that a phidipus audax? (bold jumping spider)?

  • @langolava Yes, this one is a female.

  • omg i though he was gonna zoom in more to the eyes

  • lol it was doing a mating pose for the camera

  • I hate spiders, but jumping spiders are very cute, and they don't scare me like other spiders do for some reason.

  • non jumping spider

  • jumping spiders for some reason, seem far more friendlier and im happier to hold them than bigger spiders or other species of spider for that matter which is odd

  • this is a phidipus audax for anyone who's wondering, or bold jumper. this one in particular is female

  • 0:12, "Oh, it's you, Mr. Human"

  • Cute. Look at those little eyes.

  • god damn that thing is ugly

  • cutest (if not the only cute) spider in the world! :D

  • @simpsonsfan49 I got one on video that qualifies as cute, it's a female jumping spider that has a face that resembles a monkey in one way or an owl in a way. Those are the main 2 comparisons I hear when showing the video to people I know.

  • 0:43 y halo thare xP

  • and then it jumps on YOU

  • that lil basterd raised his legs up like he want to box or something

  • Just beautiful. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • ha! Those little shits are so tough! Kinda like-"Come on! Wanna mess with me? Give me your best shot! I aint afraid of ya!-"Even though they jump or skittle away when you call their bluff

  • I looove that little fellows...

  • ninja stare..

  • u really thought he was gonna jump at the camera..scare the shit out of everyone

  • @xfyre101 * meant to say "i"

  • @xfyre101 LMAO I THOUGHT HE WAS GONNA JUMP AT THE CAMERA. Right at the end when I saw that still image I had my face close the screen and I thought if that bloody spider suddenly jumps I'm giving this video 1 star haha

  • Evil Bugs beware of the cutest yet deadly jumping spiders, they're gonna kick yoh silly asses XD Jumping Spiders FTW

  • it's like "....im gonna kill you if you dont point that F**cking camera out of my face"

  • 0:15 = "IM WATCHING YOU!!!"

    camera man: "O_O"

  • he looked like he was ready to pounce on the camera. I have a video on my channel of one of these chasing an RC truck antenna its so funny. look up when psychotic spiders attack on youtube and look for my name on it.

  • It didn't even jump, saddd!

  • Those things are not afraid of people!

  • I seriously thought she was gunna jump towards the camera at some point during the vid...

  • I like their brightly colored fangs. Why are they a metalic blue or green so frequently? I mean, where in nature do you see that color?

  • Everywhere. Poisonous animals/planets tend to be brightly colored as a warning to others. If the point of the poison is as a deterrent to being eaten, then it's no use if other animals don't think there's something up.

  • I know that bright colors indicate poison, but I was referring more to the metallic sheen of the fangs.

  • That happens on all sorts of beetles and other chitinous insects and arachnids. Many types of glittery makeup were (and still are) made from crushed up beetle shells.

  • Imagine one the size of a housecat, it would be able to take down a human!

  • That's a female.

  • Jumping spiders are so cute. They have those big, friendly, curious eyes (of course, they're for daytime vision and hunting, but it still makes them look cute). I just found one in my kitchen only a few minutes ago; must have been brought in by accident when my mom picked the tomatoes and peppers from our garden. He was a little white one. I just coaxed him onto my hand and set him free in the back yard again. :)

  • @polarisedelectrons I wud lmao if he crawled of ur arm and bit u in teh ASS..! XD

  • @emily6439 Indeed. I suppose small, imbecilic things amuse small, imbecilic minds.

  • @polarisedelectrons u my friend.. HAVE BALLS!! Eithrt if you're a girl or not.

  • @polarisedelectrons they dont bite?

  • @MegaScreamo4life No, not at all. Their first 'defence' is to try and jump away, not bite.

  • @polarisedelectrons oh now thats cool (: i wanna play with them now lol

  • @MegaScreamo4life Me too. XD I saw a little black/orange/green one today on the gate to our back yard. I tried to get him to crawl onto my hand, but jumpers are so shy. He kept avoiding me. XD

  • You are looking at one of the most highly intelligent and efficient hunters in the insect world. The jumping spider is can even challenge and kill a praying mantis (but not always). They don't bite - at least I've never been bit, I've had them on me before - they'll jump on you if you offer them your arm. Their legs are immensely strong, and you can feel their power as they walk on you. So admire and appreciate them because they truly are a one of nature's most perfect creations.

  • It's true that they're practically harmless. They can see color and the whole bit, so they definitely know that humans are alive, and yet they still don't attack. Proof that they're good natured.

I have been bitten however. It causes tenderness. Not a big deal.

  • He's looking like "What? You wanna a piece of me?"

  • I love these guys!!!

  • they're so curious :)

  • cute

  • its a bold jumping spider

i have one but with green on the front and not blue

  • So cute!

  • lol hes so cute!!!

  • SO SCARY!

  • Jumping spiders are so cute :P

  • hes waving

  • They're so beautiful ^^

  • They kinda look like crabs

  • damn he's beautiful. . .once i found an all red one about that size--wish i wouldah took a pic of it :(

OMG HE WAVED AT THE END!

  • I really like jumping spiders. I'd never kill one. I always catch them if they are in the house and set them free on a tree or bush.

  • zal

  • tell u wat would be sooooooooooo scary if it jumped on the camera

  • Such a little darling!

  • i'm surpirsed he didn't try to jump on u and bite

  • they arent a threat, and I have never known one to attack or bite intentionally.

  • at 0:43 hes like "HIIIII"

  • dont usually see ones that big around where i live

  • Is that in the phidippus family? just wondering cuz of her green chelicerae

  • What did you record it with.

  • I recorded this spider with a Canon S3 IS digital camera in "movie mode" and with the focus set for super-macro close up.

  • one of these little bastards is in my room freaking me out

  • they're so cute!

  • o.o

  • Very cool. I saw one similar to that one yesterday in Vacaville, California. I've also seen one in Citrus Heights, CA. The next one I see I'd like to catch and observe. Maybe post on YouTube.

  • this spider kind of looks like an alien ;-)

  • they are not venemous right?

  • I'm pretty sure they are not venomous. You'll only get a severe reaction from their bite if you are allergic to spider bites.

  • tyvm ive been waiting on some1 to reply so i could catch 1 and keep it

  • well, they ARE venomous but for several reasons not harmful(actually very helpful) to humans: weak poison, small teeth.

  • tyvm

  • Strange.. Jumping spiders seem to be very smart for their size. Awesome.

  • You're right they are very aware of their surroundings, I like how they follow your movement, i use sticks to get really close and they jump on the sticks, i think they attack and quickly jump off.

  • I love these. They're more aware of their surroundings unlike most spiders. They remind me of preying mantis. Sure don't like perfumes, tho.

  • At the end it was like 'Ima jump at choo!'

  • Very nice Pics... ... I want that pictures =)

  • i would not want that in my house O.O

  • I have em all the time in my house, and somtimes i let them chat with my friends on msn =) These spiders are cute as hell!!

  • Haha in my opinion they are ugly as hell >.> no offence.

  • Well, not everybody likes the same things =)

  • I'm jealous!!!!

  • This has to be my favourite species of spider! Theye're such characters.

  • dude, it didnt jump!

  • It's just the type of spider, it didn't jump in the video.

  • DID IT JUMP AT YOU

  • These spiders look exactly like what they do... sporty quick and powerful. My favorite spider.

  • even though i have a biggest fear of spiders ever...i can still say that this thing is so cute....if all of them were like that i wouldn't be scared....i hate those garage spiders.....aghhhhh

  • Just so you all know when a jumping spider focuses on something and raises its front legs its about to pounce so look out

  • at :37 he was throwing his gang symbol.

  • they give the impression tha they want to explore everything and defend themselves at the same time...aan check for meal and have the best site among most spiders and insects...its really stupid to kill them even in your home...totally harmless

  • salticids are the most active from all spiders...se it while it cathes prey on window against a common fly ... amazing

  • the cool thing is that if you were his size he would be eating you alive

  • So cute- little puppy-like reflective eyes! Not nearly enough of them in this world.

  • I hate this kind of spider!

    Fast spider too!

  • dammm how can u say that he is cute that guy gives me chills all down my back uuoohhhhh

  • I love ho it looks at you. They are very explorative arachnids, very cute too.

    He's like "IM THE KING!"

  • Hi!

  • Nice pics and video. He's beautiful. We found a black and red one today.

  • We get green metallic ones here, they resemble tiny christmas ornaments.

  • im not to fond of spiders, but these guys are cute, I want them as pets.

  • its havin a boner at 0:37 XD!!!

  • i love jumping spiders, they have more personality then most other spiders

  • @bloo96 Will a lot of other spiders, have personality, too. But thanks for loving jumping spiders.

  • Same here.

  • Great photography! Looks like you had him a little nervous for a minute. Nice stills, very clear and clean. :-)

  • haha he looks at you :P cute little guy for a spider

  • Yes they stare. Salticids have binocular vision and they see great. They are clever and curious little spiders

  • Hehe , very nice little jumping spider you found there :-) Those little guys are everywhere in my back yard :-) I also keep one as a pet . Along with 2 Wolf spiders.

They are totally harmless to humans. I know in some countries they can get bigger than that but i still don't think a jumping spider would bite unless you try to squish it. The very small ones probably can't bite even if they wanted to. When you allow them to walk on your arm and your hand it simply does the same as in the video.

  • ....i love him

  • I like to catch them and stick them on the ceiling in the kitchen. I had two that would hang from the ceiling from their little web and curl into a ball and sleep. I don't like spiders, but I do love these little guys. I think it's funny how they look at you. Makes them seem like a pet.

  • Wow, great video! Awesome closeup! You must have a great camera!

  • i think when they lift there front legs they get ready to jump

    do they bite?

  • I just had one of these guys on my wall. I was happy to give him a ride outside via cup. I like how they lift up to get a look at you, spiders creep me out but I can't kill them....

  • They're so cute. It's a shame my room mate smashes any spider he finds.

  • I like it when they pop their heads up to try and get a better look.

  • do they actually stare at you??

  • Yep. Let's put it this way, when we see something very clear and detailed they do as well. If I'm not mistaken when their eyes turn into a darker color that's when they're looking at you.

Jumping spiders have excellent vision. So when you're seeing one they're seeing you just as clearly too.

  • yes they have incredibly good eye vision

  • Supposedly in some cases it's 1/5 as acute as human vision. They can also see more colors than us.

  • very cool. These little dudes are quite entertaining.

  • you must be very dumb or to unlucky to be bitten by salticids. They are totally harmless to humans if feel in danger they run away. Even if you try to trap it, it will play that it is dead so ...?

  • Appears to be an immature male Phidippus audax, my VERY fave spider!

These little guys remind me of a little teddy bear, with their shoe-button eyes!

  • im ususally afraid of spiders.terrified actually.but for some reason i wasnt afraid of this one when i caught it a few years back(im only 12 so it wasnt too long ago but..)anyway at the end when it raises its arms it means it gonna attack because we put it and a daddy long legs together and it did that then killed the daddy long legs.tottally awesome.

  • All spiders have venom (save for a VERY few species) but no jumping spider has dangerous venom.

  • There are 2 species of jumping spider that are dangerous...but they live in South America, I think.

  • They're not dangerous by any stretch of the word, they're just more unpleasant.

  • So this spider book I'm reading is wrong, Cursedlemon?

There are 2 species of Jumping Spider that are equiped with venom that is deadly to humans, I may be WW2Dude but that doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about spiders.

  • And they are...?

  • I'm glad you asked, They both live in Ecuador.

The "Heliophaninae Yepoella" and the "Breda". Their venom isn't as deadly as I thought, mostly you get a rash, swelling, fever, and loss of feeling in the bitten area for a minute or two, but could be worse if not treated. The deaths were caused buy elergic reactions or serious infections in the bitten area. Deaths were very uncommon though. But I made my point, there have been deaths involving tropical jumping spiders.

  • And by your point, every spider is deadly.

  • Don't you even pull that crap, CursedLemon. My point is that there are 2 species of Jumping spider with venom that has killed humans. As I recal you said that there weren't.

  • Uh, the venom didn't kill them. One died from their own screwed up bodily defenses and one died of a microorganism.

  • so what your saying is that the venom has nothing to do with the elergic reaction to it?
