the fact that this didnt outscore Bobrova makes me ill.......she should have medaled here...at least bronze. Yeah her DLO was a lil sloppy but her full in at the end was better than Bobrovas opening by a mile. kerri was always underscored internationally. Same thing in 95 worlds

I've always liked it as well! yang yilin is using it for the second half of her new floor routine. it complements her very well.

Being British myself I do recognise a British accent. My point referred to the usual intelligent chatter underneath with regard to qualifying criteria and the 2 per country rule.

Plenty of americans commenting as usual. Oh how it would have made the sport grow if the only people competing in the finals had been eastern european, chinese, and american. Still it's all about golds for the US of A I guess

She should have won a medal for this routine. Didn't Shannon win gold in this competition for FE? Then Kerry should have won silver.

dance is bad, but this is the best music she ever performed to and the most mature choreography she had, even though SHE sucked at the non tumbling parts...obvious its a Nunno routine, the Pozarr routines are awful, how can a 60 yr old MAN make up those moves?

Oh, I'm sure Nunno knew the code enough to make sure Miller had enough difficulty! How could a coach of Nunno's caliber not realize such a thing. Anyway, I think though her tumbling was strong, her double layout was sloppy. But still, Kerri often had such bad luck competing. I mean, I hate when they limit the all-around to 2 per country! To qualify 5th for the all-around and not be able to compete really sucks.

Yeah, I agree. The two per country rule sucked. This was the first worlds they used it in and then went back to three per country afterwards. Her double layout was sloppy at this meet, but still better than some of the medalists at this meet.

@lostlyrarose Then it's not really the worlds best right? The US has about 8 or 9 girls who can be World Champion this year but only 2 of them can try. Seems a little unfair to me.

@stevenh622 yep. that's why I hate those rules. I think 3 from each country should even qualify for event finals, if for no other reason than to watch 3 chinese gymnasts on bars... even back in the day, I wished we would see 3 russians and 3 romanians on bars and beam.

@stevenh622 I agree. I hate that rule. Even in the 80s, I would hate that they would limit romania and russia to 2 gymnasts in event finals. And now, I would love to see event finals with 3 chinese gymnasts on bars & beam especially.

@lostlyrarose: I'm pretty sure Nunno knew what he was doing! But I do agree her double lay out was sloppy, but all the times she performed the double layout, even in the 96' Olympics, her legs were always slip apart! she needed more help with Technic on it I believe in my own option!

@lostlyrarose In the book that Shannon Miller's mom, Claudia, wrote (Shannon Miller: My hero, My child) she said something about that she had to tell Steve that Shannon's FX routine was missing a requirement to start at a 10. It was either before the 1993 or 1994 WC's.

She obviously didn't watch Kerri's routine if Kerri was training at Dynamo!

I completely agree! She should have won the gold at this meet. She was by far the superior tumbler. Too bad they decided to go with the two per country rule for the all-around. She could have medaled there. She placed 5th AA in prelims.

This is by far Kerri's worst floor routine (the music and choreography) and it came at such a bad time. Nunno later admitted that he didn't know the code well enough that year and that it was his fault she did not medal. She only needed another two tenths bonus in order to get the difficulty in the dance. Bummer!

Um, actually her routine SHOULD'VE started from a 10.0, but the judges didn't credit her for two of her jumps. The only skill that shouldn't have been credited was the cat leap 2/1.
