same thing happend me unboxing mine i didnt know that there was a disc in the the box so i cut it and wrecked the box but the disc was fine and after about 15 mins i just pulled out the camera because i got of sick of diging arond the box and doing nothing but a got it out!!!

Simply cut around the edge of the package along 3 sides. The contents will then be free. It's much easier than trying to cut straight through the entire package and much less hasardous as well.

Two methods that I've found for opening those types of packages are:

Tin Snips! Don't laugh they work. If you happen to have some, they're large enough to give you the leverage you need and designed to cut something that hard.

X-acto Knife! Stab it in, and work it around to make an opening. The extremely sharp tip makes it easy to poke it in and it's small short blade makes it easy to control and not cut yourself.
