hi would you be able to tell me how to get footage from the dv tape to the computer, im new to all this.

You have to connect your DV camcorder to the computer, either using Firewire or a USB connection, then open up any editing program (PC's usually come with Windows Movie Maker, most Mac's come with iMovie). For more details, just do a Google search on Connecting DV Cam to Computer.

that's cool that you have that camara. well, hope people buys it. I dont want it since I already have 2 camaras. one that is a hard drive that I brought in after-thanksgiving day 2008 and another that is a Sony H8 camara that I brought in late 2002 (the first camara i brought in the US). I may sell the Sony one when I make all my H8 tapes in the computer and in DVDs. Cant believe It still works.
