man, I can't even tell you how good this cover is. it's a perfect nod to the original -- which is basically one of the greatest songs ever written -- but you totally made this your own and it just rocks. great job!

yourmoment, i think your comment is odd. i like this cover, but you also say that brian wilson should be more lighthearted. have you listened to practically any album before pet sounds? they're all fun fun fun, about surfer girls, school pride, and cars. very idiolistic and lighthearted.
I've been a Beach Boys fan for over 40 years and this is the best cover of this song I have heard yet.. If you're gonna do a cover why make it just like the original right? Thanks for not being afraid to show some imagination.
Thanks. My thoughts exactly. Funny thing is, I did do a cover a long time ago that was more of a copy of the original - and it kinda sucked. So why not try something new?
some songs are best left untouched--god only knows is certainly one of them. i'm all for creative adventures, but to slap a driving, beat and punky style onto a song that was beautiful BECAUSE of it's gentleness and subtlety is just wrong. now i need to youtube the original version before this somehow degrades it in my memory. thanks.
@shanegria: i m not saying you have a bad voice or anything. but thegreatwhitemark is here absolutely right. it s not how the song is meant to be......
Hmmm... I don't think you'll find a bigger Beach Boys fan that me, but I liked this version. Brian Wilson is amazing. My world wouldn't be the same without his music, but he's also a very depressed man that has been troubled by his emotions for decades. It's great that he expressed himself through music, but it doesn't hurt to bring a little more light heartedness to the music either. Great song and a good cover.
not expecting this but wow great job... this reminds me of when the ataris covered "boys of summer", a soft rock song, and just rocked it out. 5/5 this is pretty bold but i still dig it
If I'm not mistaken, his uncle (mother's brother) is actually Mike Love, yes that Mike Love.

Shut your yapping, please.
This is good. It's not like he went and dug up some of the original beach boys, so lighten up and quit being a dick.
