NBC Olympics- East Coast Bias; Not Live on the West Coast

The only reason the East Coast has this so-called "bias" is because of the time zone. Imagine if the sports media was centralized and hubbed in the west coast, which is 3 hours behind the east coast. People in the east coast would whine and complain on how late the games were on. I'm from the west coast (Cali) and I don't mind it. In fact I see as a better commadity. Earlier games.

Ive always thought how much it would suck to be a sports fan on the west coast. NFL games starting at 10 am? The sunday and monday 'night' games starting at 6 PM! Other playoff sporting events starting while you are still at work or stuck in traffic on a weekday? It would be so weird and would suck being a sports fan in California.

The only thing East coast so truely live was the stuff that happened from 8ish in the morning in china the next day, to 2ish in china, the next day, which means east coast was up until 2 in the morning, every morning watching live events, but even then they still said some of it wasn't live.

What about the NBC announcers giving the results BEFORE they air the event? This happened twice (that I know of). Once in LA the local news ruined the result of the men's volleyball semi-final game. The other time was just today with Craig Sager announcing the women's volleyball gold medal result.

I don't think that anybody on the WEST coast would want to see the olympics live at 3 AM! Don't be idiots. They do it during the day so that you can actually be able to watch it and so they can get more RATINGS. It's all for marketing, nothing against the WEST coast. Maybe you all might want too see it live at 3 am but most people have sleeping to catch up with.

Yeah, I hate that it is not live on the west coast. They could easily place this stuff at 5pm for Pacific Standard Time and play other live events at 8pm. It would make it easier to watch events before 11pm and not have to stay up well past midnight.

It's live from Beijing because it's shown in the 'primetime' zone here in the East Coast. That mean huge ratings especially in markets like NYC, Boston, Atlanta & Washington D.C. Showing it at 3pm pacific time in LA or San Francisco wouldn't make sense that why they are tape delayed.

Just watched the men 100M track & field final LIVE on CBC up here in Canada. And what a race it was!!!!!! Too bad, in the USA everyone has to wait on a 12 hour tape delay to see the race. If you want to see the Olympics the way they were meant to be seen (LIVE), get a Canadian feed.

NBC sucks ass! Always has and always will! They're a complete disgrace. Their prime time ad dollars are more important than the event itself.
