  • Like to see an H2 do that.

  • needs lockers on the 3rd gen

  • @pirochip A lot of them have the factory E-locker in the rear. The silver 3rd gen in this video now has ARB's front and rear.

  • which runner does the video uploader drive?

  • @jakejjs My vehicle actually isn't in this video. I have a 3rd gen 4runner also. Similar to the '01 silver one in this video.

  • @sn0wrunner I have an 85 runner. always looking for new people to wheel with, sounds like you guys are from colorado.

  • @jakejjs Yeah we are in the denver area. Check out rm4x4.o-r-g. Thats where we post up what trails we are going to run. It would be cool to meet up and wheel with you!

  • need lower gears

  • It's not even on 4lo

  • @TheFatty1000 You're retarded.

  • Lack of power+not right size and pressure for crawling

    Mufler leak + ...etc..

Tune up right?? Do you have 22RE EFI or Old Carburetor ( I got same like yours 1985 Runner)

  • @CharlieDoan Not my vehicle. He was running 10 psi, so i dont think tire pressure was an issue. This was a few years ago, he has since sold the rig.

  • love your vids!!!!!!!

  • The silver one that get pulled round 4 min. bet that motor is shot. Sounds weak on horsepower.

  • @techtex08 Nope engine is flawless. However you are right, it does lack in power, that is why it is getting supercharged this next week.

  • @sn0wrunner How high are you? Like what altitude? Low Oxygen = less power.

  • sound like 22RE??? right?

  • Man I miss my 84 Toyota sitting on Dick Cepek 40's

  • whats the set up on that 84/85 4runner?

  • @mikaelw Not exactly sure... You can ask the owner, his username is hayes249767

  • Wow guys. Impressive-both your rigs and driving. I've run that on my ATV and I know what you are goin over... Damn cool.

  • That 01 is a badass runner!

  • Отличные покатушки, отличная техника!

  • what year is the silver one im getting a stock 1990 4runner how do they do with stock gears and everything im lifting it and getting bigger tires also

  • @7yearoldRCF Its a 2001. They do ok with stock gears. Most are 3.90 and some are 4.10's, but most people re-gear to 4.88's with 33" tires or 5.29's with 35" tires. But you can feel a big difference from stock tire size and gears, to 33's and stock gears. It's much slower. And the your '90 (2nd Gen) has a smaller engine than the 3rd gens ('96-'02), so you will really want to re-gear when you get larger tires. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

  • how hi is the lift on the silver 4 runner?

  • @mana83320 he's running toytec 3.5" coil overs in the front and OME 851's in the rear and a 1.5" body lift. So about 5" in the front and 6" in the rear.

  • @sn0wrunner Looks like he needs just a little more lift to run those tires when wheelin'.

  • Every time I here the bumper hit, I wince.

  • What bumpers are on that silver 4runner? I'm looking to get bumpers for my '97 SR5. thanks

  • Front is made by Armorology. The rear is being custom made by the owner of that vehicle.

  • @gumwap1

    go 97 SR5 =D i have one too haha

  • @gumwap1 i think he's got an arb front bumper but i' not sure

  • that silver 4runner needs lockers!

  • hahaha! This video is a little over a year old, It is now locked front and rear with new gears as well. Thanks for watching!

  • Where did u get that swingout tire carrier?

  • It's actually not mine. My runner is the silver limited in Part 1 of this video.

But he is custom building the rear bumper and swing-out tire carrier himself.

  • i know right i had a 83 toyota pickup and that thing was in stoppable....i literally would climb trees i loved it wish i never would have sold that truck

  • o ok my buddy said they same body style and came in the 85 only lol i wish they would of finished that generation with it

  • yep. your buddy is correct. 85 is the last year they made the 4runner with a solid axle. It is too bad they didnt continue offering that!

  • oh i thought it was the 88 style like mine they look close i thought 88 was first generation for runner.....cause mine dont have straight axle and i hate it lol but thanx man i appreciate it

  • oh i thought it was the 88 style like mine they look close i thought 88 was first generation for runner.....cause mine dont have straight axle and i hate it lol but thanx man i appreciate it

  • hey on the 1st generation who done the straight axle swap and how hard was it.....and where do u get the cages to go around the back of it?

  • the first gen is a 1985 and that was when they came stock with a solid front axle, so no conversion was necessary. As for the rear bumper, I'm not sure. You can ask him though, his account on here is hayes249767

  • hey on the 1st generation who done the straight axle swap and how hard was it

  • the third gen has no locker

  • correct, when this video was made it was open front and rear, now its locked front and rear.

  • @pandaonweed very nice do u go to t4r.org by any change

  • yeah I'm on there. Not as much any more, now im on 3rd gens . c o m

  • love the gen 2 rig awesome truck. who makes your front bumper/ winch. is that only a 3" lift? 33s or 35s?Thanks

  • Thanks for the comment! Which one are you referring to? The black one is a 1st Gen, and the silver one is a 3rd gen.

  • @sn0wrunner yeah srry mis type its the silver 3rd gen i was refering to looks just like mine Thanks

  • Nice video!

  • thanks!

  • gotta sick flex!!

  • check out toyteclifts . com

They got lots of lift kit options with very reasonable pricing and great customer service.

  • please tell me were you got the bumper on the first 4runner i have been looking very were

  • Are you referring to the Black 1st Gen? If so, ask hayes249767. He can tell you.

  • yes lets do the opposite of what the spotter says

  • the silver surf is nice!!

  • put the 4th generation 4runner to work

  • @Kulfrend hahaha! yeah the 4th gen will be doing some work soon. We'll be in Moab at the beginning of May. Check back at the end of May for some 4th gen in Moab footage.

  • I love this trail. Nice rigs, looks like they are pretty capable. Where are you guys out of? I am in the Springs.

  • we are from all over the denver area.

check out rm4wd .o r g and maybe we can hit a trail sometime.

  • You guys got some nice videos there, i'm still building my discovery II and will love to go there to test my LR in those hard trails!!!! Good job guys and keep posting nice videos like this one, i got some videos also, check them out !!!

  • 4:02 really dumb, but nice trucks!

  • thank you!

Just wondering if you think it was dumb in the sense of trying to keep the line clean and not in the dirt, or dumb that it was directly over his head and if the truck would have stalled or something that it would have snapped and cut him in half? lol

  • Directly over his head, sorry should have been clear. Its a great idea to keep a winch line clean, but not at the expense of your own head!

  • poor little 4 banger

  • Great editing of the footage! How much did you have to go through to get 18 minutes worth? We didn't take much video on the second or third day, did we?

  • no, we really didnt take any from the 2nd or 3rd day. I'd say we had a good hour and a half of footage from the first day.

  • Glen, the driver of the silver 4runner, likes to try things for himself before we spot him. Sometimes we chime in, but we all like to give things a shot, to see if we can do them on our own. I'm the driver of the black 1st gen.

  • dude ur spotters sucked! They gave you no direction and would only say something after you drove into a hole!

  • I was actually filming. My rig isn't in this video. To the spotters credit though, sometimes the driver doesn't listen to what they are saying lol. And the driver sometimes wants to conquer and obstacle without a spot. I'm not sure the driver had even asked for a spot, rather by standards were just yelling out what they thought would help. The driver in the silver 3rd gen is one of the best spotters i know.

  • You guys know how to have fun.

Is the silver runner your everyday driver

    one sweet rig, brother.

    I got a 07 SR 5 v8 4x4

thinkin about getting some BFG's TA KO2

    maybe a 2 in lift

  • My rig actually isn't featured in this video. You can check out my runner in some of my other videos though. Its also a silver 3rd gen. But yes, the silver 2001 4runner is my friend's daily driver. Thanks for the comment!
