This is what i don't understand if you have a bad ending then sonic leaves Amy on the planet and on a good ending he still leaves Amy on the planet and the planet like vanishes can someone please explain to me why he leaves Amy on the planet either ways

the reason why Sonic had a shield because Metal Sonic was originally going to hit Sonic when he captures Amy.
