I did this last year, and I'll say that they do NOT give the piano part enough credit in this piece of music.... It's really friggin hard!

@auntiepicklebottom yeahh! so true. Our percussion ensemble that I was part of did this piece my sophmore year in high school and i was like...how in the world are you playing that piano part! It's very difficult. >.>

very much enjoyed playing this piece in my high school percussion ensemble. gillingham arranged concerto for percussion ensemble for my high school back in 1995. still one of my favorite pieces.

We played this in high school. That same year we competed against 2 colleges playing the same piece. We took home the trophy! I played the jam block and bass drum parts! Good times.

It sounded good, but that timpani solo was really bad. I had to play all three movements with my front ensemble, and I was timpani. Whoever is assigned the timpani part on this piece needs to practice all the time to perfect that solo!!! All in all it was pretty ok though

dude this is amazing music, i love this music!!!! my school played bits of this movement and a different one my frosh year and we had a show called stained glass based off of this music! its the best! it makes me freaking !!!!! happy!
