You somehow misunderstood everything. I'm pointing out that FDR won the election and maintained power by building a "broad coalition" of voters. That wasn't an analysis of what "courage" means. It's just the way the fucking election was won -- the Republican party isolated Catholic and African American voters in the 1928 election by demonizing Al Smith and pandering to right-wing populist movements popular in the south.

I'm saying FDR was as much of a "vote whore" as any modern Democrat is.

of 1932 and the one present in 2008.
