Cloud is the best Terran player I've seen. Most attack off 1-2 bases but he macros up. Even if an opponent wins a battle their army's too thin to push through T defenses.
Delphi was never committed enough in production or attention to get rid of the medivacs. But you see the imba that zerg doesn't even get AA until T2 while T can use their 1st unit to counter air.
Also, stim makes marines able to snipe nexus/hives. Neither a zealot or zergling drop would be as much of a threat.
Its' cool to see a Terran macro player. Cloud's the first Terran player to interest me.
2:40 For balance. Probes can be attacked after they start warping in and drones are lost. If SCVs couldn't be attacked while they build it'd be another Terran buff for the sake of making Terran OP.
11:40 1 siege tank turned the whole fight. I think Delphi's gonna lose it b/c he keeps pressing. Let Cloud hunker down while you get a 4th base.
I laughed at Delphi's usage of banelings INSIDE ClouD's base..he couldve easily taken out the entire mineral line/mules, instead he went for 2 siegetanks..he just gave the game away.
the fact cloud won was only because a mix of his skill and delphi's complete terrible performance. although i dont know the actual stats, looking at that game it seemed like cloud had over double the atm of delphi, delpi did not harrass with his mutas properly, delphi did not take the advantage and spam when his banelings blew the hell out of cloud's units several times over, delphi got to 5 hatches and didnt spam. there was a point terran was defnding wit scvs against 3 -4hatches come on
Blizzard should give terrans the option of right or left add-ons. They are the only race who is at a disadvantage depending on where they spawn.... Is Blizz asleep?
And what about that range on Thor's 250mm cannons?! Marines can spit farther than that!!!
Blizzard should give terrans the option of right or left add-ons. They are the only race who is at a disadvantage depending on where they spawn.... Is Blizz asleep?
nice, i really thoug zerg was going to win, becasue zerg won all of the mayor engagements. and btw, a marine full upgraded its a very good unit, of course, it takes quite some time to get the 3 - 3 upgrades plus stim packs plus the shield
@TheRlyNewHide planetary fortresses, cheap missile turrets, sensor towers, mass siege techs + thors, easy+cheap marauder drops. terran late game is just as viable as any other race. if anything, zerg late game sucks. the only option they have is broodlords+roaches. ultralisk are horribad unless combined with queens. and even then, queens aren't nearly mobile enough to follow them offensively.
@sc2ai Umm.. what are you talking about. The zerg was in the lead multiple times when he took out most of the terran's army and even completely taking out the terran's army at one point. You know what the difference was? The Terran actually did something other than just standing for the other to attack by doing amazing drop plays. Zerg's response? Nothing. Gg
Epic terran micro, taking out the key buildings for the Zerg players army production, I dont think Crota noticed the Infestation pit being taken down too.
Zerg players will obviously whine that the Terran Players win was total BS, but in the end, Cloud's ability to Micro was how he managed to win.
Added to favorites immediately..incredibly well played ClouD, did not give up when the roach push entered the ramp, wisely blocking the roaches with SCVs and bombarding with Siege Tanks. Then landing the killing blow by eliminating tech structures while engaging the zerg army... amazing, this is Starcraft 2 at his best...also very well played by delphi.
this is a classic example of how unbalanced the game is. Delphi eliminated the entire terran army twice but couldn't push onto the ramp just because of a few marines... and once terran gained a slight upper-hand it's all of a sudden all over.
Crota, it makes absolutely no sense to say the players are playing aggressively. If you're going to count building command centers as "aggressive," I guess building drones is ferocious, building a Templar Archives is feral brutality, and scouting is cataclysm. They were not playing aggressively by expanding.
@enjolraslechimiste aggressive means to be fierce and constantly putting pressure, in a way it means to put urself into danger by constantly putting danger to opponents. getting a fast expansion is putting urself into danger. Aggressive in a way means taking a high risk, or else they wouldnt have come up with the english term aggressive chance.
that drop on the main totally shutting down the zerg, that just fell sooooooooooooo good, man thats one of the best turnover ive seen, wow, well played :DDDD
@fbruvik ive seen those type of battles, but tbh, most times, chain fungal on the 10 thors are even better than neural, seeing that the unit has to be manually taken down and the infestor has to be channeled to use it.
@Darkener909 I think the real problem is when they stim. Not only the dps goes heck up, their movement speed goes up too, making it a pain in the ass to kill/chase them while they can easily kite everything. Imho, stim needs to have a cool down. But this is just my thought, and i believe the 3 races will be balanced out in the end.
@senglord What are you talking about? If the Zerg was smarter, he would have ran a few banelings into the mineral line. That would've killed the entire scv count at the natural expansion. However, he instead ran them into tanks near the ramp. Banelings are very cost effective if you micro them properly.
Don't believe me? Lets do the math.
Zergling (25min) + Baneling (25min)(25gas) = 50 mineral + 50 gas
It only takes a couple banelings (100min)(100gas) to destroy SCVs.
@senglord It's justifiable because it's quite hard to micro, and the loss is so high if not done right. Kinda like dt, you're either ready and it's a huge loss for the toss player or you get fucked.
@senglord well this isn't a good example of what your saying. Zerg player messed up pretty bad and terran player didn't micro his rines much at all. The zerg attacked the tanks with the banelings.
But the case when banelings actually succeed are rare enough to beg the question of their value. Mass MMM(4-6 tank) can auto-pilot to a win against most Zerg builds. (Protoss can go Psy-storm)
It is the small margin for error in Zerg in ZvT that makes banelings inefficient. (banelings are a deterrent to mass zergling in ZvZ) (Everything is armored in ZvP)
@senglord I see your point but auto-pilot is a little extreme. I would say out of the replays I watch from husky / psy / and crota ... zerg players win most ZvT matchups. Just watch Idra lol. Same thing every time pwns terran. If marines / tanks were as good as you say then why do so many terran's get blue flame? Perfect micro / tank setup will destroy banelings but that is very hard to pull off. Especially when zerg has full map control / creep to attack when terran isn't set up.
@thegarbageman21 True again.I have to give it to you for being the more reasonable person on this.
My main issue was the overall difficulty for most Zerg players to reach the competence to defeat "basic" Terran strats. The balance is mostly there in pro level, but in the lower tiers it looks bleak.
