I almost for got, I think it was the beginning or near the beginning of when Intel was starting to use Hyper Threading technology on their processors because it has it.
I love the Retro unboxing. I'd like to see more and a retro PC build. I'm actually running a Pentium 4 3.2ghz (board came with a P4 2.4) processor in socket 478 on an ABIT-IC7 overclockable gaming mother board from 2004 with 800mhz frontside bus with 4GB dual channel DDR RAM in 4 DIMM slots and I'm running WIN7 Ultimate for my operating system. Graphics card is AGP HIS Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3 with 5 more PCI slots. I wish that the processor supported a 64bit operating system.
10 years later... So today were going to do a retro unboxing. its going to be the Phenom x4 black edition 3.2 as you can see the box is almost brown from all the dust on it. look i can write my name in it. then people are gonna be like. OMG who still has a trashy processor like that. so slow...
LOL! the copper alone would be worth more now than what the cpu would have sold for new in it's day! Nice unboxing, would like to see more retro unboxings in the future.....
i had a dell laptop with a athlon 64 fx. i think it was 1ghz or 1,2 dont remember. the nvidia card in it had known overheating flaws. my computer failed after 3 months. dell, nvidia told me to have best buy replace it. went to best buy to have it replaced, store manager looked at my receipt then deleted my purchase from the computer in front of him and asked me to leave.... never been back to BB , wont buy dell or nvidia
Kind of fitting that I watched this on my FX-60 rig :) They were champions in their day. Nice to see the fancy old school box. By the time I picked up my FX-60 and Athlon X2s in late 2005 early 2006 they were already in the standard cardboard box like we see them now.
I still have my original Athlon 64 FX-51. With the SK8N motherboard. ECC memory. It is in my garage powering my MAME arcade. It is still amazing. I Now am using QX9650
i dont know why but everytime he does a retro unboxing i get nostalgic all of a sudden.. probably remembering about my old pc i used to have untill i got my new beast :p
i remember when i had my old pc with processors like that i had one of the best pc's... lol nice unboxing anyway
Retro ... this in younger than my actual PC. Good old P4 2.8 ghz with an AGP ATI X800XT 256meg and 2 gb of DDR1 Dual Channel. I still run thru almost all the game that are 1 years old now ... but seriously, even if it's well built and overclocked to the limit possible, this is getting too old now.
Thinking about that ... linus, don't you have some giveaway for people like me that use their stuff all the way up to the grave ? lolll
I found one of these with a bunch of old electronics. I did research and found out it is a Socket 940. I was excited because my PC is from 2006 but my PC has a AM2 slot (which is 940 pins but not the same as the 940 socket. I was so ANNOYED!!!
I had an Athlon XP processor back in 2003 and I remember that HUGE sheet of paper with installing instructions in a ton of different languages. It replaced my aging K6-II 500 MHz. Time sure flies!
o god get that hearsink AWAY FROM ME!!!! It was a bitch to remove that it even ripped off my processor from the socket and caused my processors pins to bend
I just can't believe how you're behaving with that processor, I bet there are still people who would beg for this processor.
It is old, but it doesn't mean it doesn't do the job.
You should have handled it with precautions and stuff, you know, not outside, dusty,windy...
Though, nice thing to see around these days, oh good old days, Fx series... Geez. 1k$ processors. I wonder how we will remember core i7 extreme editions now. it is like a time capsule.
Hey Linux (yeah it's me again I nicknamed you Linux because you're so open and technical lol ).
You should do random drawings and send each winner a different retro unboxed product. Many people still use old tech like my main PC is a D850GB board with a Socket 478 P4 3GHz via 423->478 adaptor.
Anyway I'm jealous that the last 2 unboxing items are actually newer/more advanced than my main desktop and you get to just toss/recycle it. Oh well.
You should have included a bit of back story to this video....as to how you came across it ...and what exactly you'll be doing with it now that you've opened it
The way he says processor is annoying as shit. Although it was funny to hear a correct pronunciation of processor in there. But hey, those wannabe intellectuals try to hard to be extra annoying to divert the attention away for how little they really know.
it's a mode used for taking up close pictures or video. pretty much anything that requires the camera to be really close to the subject. some cameras are able to focus very well on up-close subjects, while other cameras (such as this one) are not :)
