dont buy a mac, get a pc. I know that for some reason everybody thinks macs are reliable and 10 times faster, but thats also coming from the people that know nothing about computers. I spent 930 bucks for a pc the has quad core runnin 2.33ghz with 8gb of ram and a 9600 gt 1gb. it can blow the mac book pros out of the water and at less then half the cost

I know a film producer and he said he tried editing with Mac but decided to switch to a custom build PC kind of like yours using adobe editing software. haha ya, uh the computer i wrote was one that i made for a customer (i do custom computers), &he had 8grand just lying around &he told me to get him the most powerful mac pro and build the ultimate PC! so, i did it. 8 grand down the drain in a matter of 2 day shipping! NEWEGG ROCKS!

So, i benched the pro with the custom PC, and the PC was blazing fast it lapped the mac pro in EVERY POSSIBLE STRESS TEST!!

He ended up returning the mac pro and buying 4 30" DELL MONITORS!!

I've got a question:

I've got the Canon Legria HF S10, but when I put this camera on my PC, I get a folder with MTS files. Then you can import these files to your PC in correct format. I want to edit my video's but there isn't sound if I edit this clips and I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.

no doubt the HF-S 10 is a great consumer cam, but i can't get past the jerky-ness of the picture. I just graduated from a film program and now i'm in the market for a cam under 1500 to shoot music videos "gorilla style." I would love to start out with something like the HF-S 10 but wary of the optic stabilizer. Does this cam have stabilization problems like the jvc g7? Can the footage be corrected in After Effects?

I am going to get the camera, it looks great. On your footage I see purple fringe on the high lights. Any way around from not getting that. Tell me a little about post process in Premiere, is it slow or demanding? Right now i have Canon GL-1 and work with DV. I will be switching over when I get the HFS10. thanks for any help.

It's because I had a filter on my lens and this kind of angle (I love it, sometime I added myself in Premiere:) .

It's all about your computer if it's fast it's really fast on premiere.

quick question though, does this camera have an option that you can plug in headphones and monitor the audio as you film? not just to watch it after, but actually monitor it while you film? i do a lot of interviews so that's a key feature for me. right now we're filming with canon hf11's and they have that feature. i'm thinking of buying one of these because it's bigger lens will allow for better quality in low-light situations, which will be a huge help for our concert footage.

Great Vid. Picture Quality looks awesome! I'm looking to buy this camera but I wanted to know a few things:

Q1: Does it have the "Time Lapse" recording feature? I would like to record sunsets, sunrises, etc.

Q2: Does it have the "Slow Motion" capture feature? And if so, does can it record in HD? I would love to use it for to record myself swinging the golf stix.

sorry but I trust only Canon. I'm a pro photographer and everyone knows that canon makes the best cameras in the world, thats why they can't make bad camcorder!!! (that's my opinion)

plus Canon HF-S10 & HF-S100 has a huge lens 58mm filter, and it records 24Mb(it means better colors), that's a huge plus I think.

i dont have this camera yet but im thinking of getting it soon, and idk about slow motion, but you could record it at 60 frames per second and if you slowed it down to 50 percent or so it shouldnt show any signs of dropped frames or look like a wierd frame rate, as for time lapse, you could always give it a ridiculously low frame rate in post editing, like 5 or something, and just speed it up

Soon I'm gona make another video in a low light situation so you gona see yourself.

And yes it's a hell of a lot difference compare to hf200(in low light). I would say half a noise is gone with this camcorder that hf200 has.

And one more thing I forgot to say hf-s10 has much better design than hf200.
