@MachoMan3777 Try holding just one kick button for a LONG time, like 10 seconds, then release without attempting any other moves. It'll probably work. From there, adjust your timing until you perfect it!

I don't like how the combos are input for Street Fighter 4, they're too damned awkward. Also scrubs, don't give me that damned excuse "It separates the scrubs from the pros!" It really, really doesn't! TO KNOW A COMBO AND TO KNOW WHEN TO APPLY THEM ARE TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS!
What, mine or the one I mentioned about the scrubs? If you're talking about mine, that'd be pretty damned funny considering I've been playing fighting games WAAAAAY before Street Fighter 4 came out
Really? Pretty sad you're whining about SF4 combos then. A real player would adapt and overcome. Oh wait, they already do. Guess that should something about you, buddy. Learn to play.
Just because the controls were set up so that newbs could have a feel for what a fighting game DOESN'T play like, doesn't mean shit you fool, I CAN do combos in the game, they're just ridiculously annoying to do and make the game less enjoyable. I like actually PUTTING THE INPUTS IN instead of going into the inputs straight from a poke. From what I can tell, you're just another Street Fighter fag who sucks it's dick cause of the title and hasn't even played more than 5 2D fighters in his life.
Hah. ST - Honda. Hokuto No Ken - Shin. Guilty Gear - Chipp. BlazBlue - Bang. SF4 - Dictator/El Fuerte. TvsC - Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan. JoJos - Dio.
Look at that, new generation fighters. Gee, I wonder how you learned about those. The only thing that's not new gen is guilty gear but everyone knows about Chipp, plus, this is around the same time everyone got into fighting games just because of Street Fighter 4 (The game is still very overrated and brought nothing new to the table), anyhow, unless you named games people haven't heard of like Akatsuki Blitzkampf or Rumble Fish, I'm not impressed.
Alright just replying to everything you stated, BlazBlue is newgen, even if its Guilty Gear rehudded. And yes a lot of scrubs are getting into fighting games now BECAUSE of SF4. I was one of them. I hated fighting games because I tried playing on a pad, now on a fightstick its easier for me and I love it. I've into a real retrospective of games I "hated" and found they are better than SF4.
SFIII3 is better, BBCS is good, hate BBCT, KoF isn't my favorite. SFAlpha 2-3 was good.
Actually, Blazblue is very, very different from Guilty Gear believe it or not. If you look at how similar they are, the only similarities that are logical are a few because they're practically opposites. One is advanced and one is basic. But I loved fighting games way before SF4 and Blazblue, I mean, you can't hate a game just because you're not good at it or something, I hate SF4 for specific reasons. I can win with Ryu, so why don't I just choose him and win? Nobody uses logic properly though
I'm going to say that the art style of the games is different, I could've gone either way on the art. And who gives a shit about story in a fighting game.
Also apparently people aren't good enough if they've never played obscure titles, and does it really matter if one person was brought into fighting games by SF4 or Arcana Heart?
Personally I think the person who learned fighting games from arcana heart will be dissapointed.
I'm not stating that the story is important, however, there are people who care. Also, if they're going to make a story that's horrible, why waste money on voice actors and make it worse than it already was? It was like a negative about the game, you get a seizure from just that practically. Also, I didn't learn fighting games from Arcana Heart, I'm stating more or less that I've been playing fighting games and not just 1 particular one. I have experience. I learned from SF2 : \
Not to mention what if someone got into fighting games by playing SF2 or SF4, what difference does that make? Not to mention what if a person got into fighting games by playing SF2 while SF4 was out? Be glad that more people are getting into it and that more money will be put into the tourney pot.
But to me, that's a problem. There are other fighting games that deserve it way more than SF4 and it's getting so much attention. I understand there are people who weren't into fighters before, but it wasn't like they didn't exist and alot of them were around during the time of 2. So do they only see Street Fighter as a good fighter just because it's Street fighter? Also, to me, the fighting genre is almost dead cause of SF4. Popularity doesn't mean it's alive, the spirit of it is 1 game? Dead.
I'd say the fighting genre is getting stronger. Without SF4 I wouldn't have bothered with Guilty Gears, BlazBlue, KoF or have revisted the MK series. I just think SF4 is getting a lot of praise because of what it modified from other fighting games.
Decent online play compared to any Xbox, DC, or PS2 fighter.
Different graphics.
Relatively balanced character roster - Sagats top tier and pretty crazy, but hes not Magneto from MvC2.
But SF4 did nothing of the sort. There were other fighting games with online and everyone complains about that and it's not like this was the first 2D Fighter to have 3D graphics or something. Also, it's not that balanced, I mean, MvC2 is crazy unbalanced, but if you look at other games, they're pretty balanced too. Guilty Gear AC is supposed to be claimed as THE most balanced fighting game ever and still is regarded as such.
SSFT, Karnov's Revenge, Kizuna Encounter, King of Fighters, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Rumble Fish, Arcana Heart, Melty Blood, Akatsuki Blitazkampf, Art Of Fighting, World Heroes, CvS, TvC, Fatal Fake, Big Bang Beat, SF3, Martial Masters, I could go on but there's no need to.
Anyhow, I can perform combos in that game, they're just annoying to do making the game less fun than it already was. The music, story, graphics and art style sucks and the gameplay is okay.
So after taking a dump on everything else in the game, the gameplay is okay. The game isn't even that balanced, I mean, it's not broken, but just because they added damage scaling, doesn't mean crap if the top players have everything they need and the lesser characters have too many flaws. Anyhow, the dick suckers out there just love it cause it's Street Fighter with 3D graphics. Again, they took a dump on everything else and made the gameplay for newbs, so how hard did they REALLY work on this?
(Siberianhusky89) I've been reading those earlier comments of yours and just wanted to know, what is your beef with SF4? No offense or anything, just curious. To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the combo system either because it made the game too safe for hit confirmations and all that jazz. Do you think SF4 is just a not so good fighting game because it's its old self but wrapped in new package?
@Toomnyusernae Well, it's more than that. People seem to praise it so highly and put it on a pedestal just because it's name is Street Fighter. Anyhow, before SF4 ever came out, I was playing fighting games a LOT. Now, think of it like this... Let's say that people see a painting and call it art, but then professions who's values have been raised in what is true art come along and think it not good. SF4 is flawed in so many ways, I can't even end the list. There's nothing special about it.
So people will stop giving it attention for no reason. Anyhow, I'm not complaining. They fixed most of the shit that made Street Fighter 4 absolutely horrible in Super. Honestly? I think they didn't know shit about fighting games when Street Fighter 4 vanilla came out. They just tried to copy as many things as possible from old SF games and other fighting games and put it into one shitfest, including the things that made SF2 unbalanced in the first place.
u have? cool. i have been having trouble with beating ryu for some reason i cant predict or counter his moves. any advice? im a scrub to sf4 so plz be gental. lol
Well, to be honest, I don't play SF4 that often, it didn't appeal to me much, but I've been playing fighting games for a long time, it's my favorite genre. (Even if it was "dead" for a while) Anyhow, first off, who do you main? Second off, his shoryuken is very punishable, try to lure him into it. His overhead is ridiculously fast even if you know it's coming, try to figure out when to punish him while he does this Hadoukens and his spinning kick goes through projectiles, he can be hit out of it
well im an el fuerte player so no projectiles for me to use. all his moves require contact which is a dangerous thing going against ryu and the other pain in my ass zangief.
press it right before you leap off the wall, otherwise you will just do a jumping MP. just press it right before and during your wall leap and you'll be fine. it takes a little getting used to.
It's pure speed. Press down+MK and IMMEDIATELY do two fireball motions + kick. Listen to the sound of my joystick to figure out how fast it has to be.
El Fuerte is a great addition for the series I think, I've been reciving spam hate messages online since I started to use this character I don't know if it's cos he is mexican or cos he is very unpredictable.
I think its because people get frustrated when they can't seem to catch him with their moves because of his speed. I get that some times too. Which makes me like using Fuerte even more. XD
I use to ignore the tostada crush and use the throw instead until I learned that the throw don't work against crouchers while the tostada is an overhead. Why don't training mode in Street Fighters let you make the CPU only guard either high or low? I never know what's really high, low, totally misses, or overhead except in real battle.
umm I don't know if i'm missreading your video but you CAN conncect the HK guacamole leg throw when you close in and HK. I do it all the the time, even the EX version
yea. no idea why he said that lol. The easiest thing ever actually. It follows that "rush pressing technique" where you press HK and at the same time doing the guacamole move with ur pad.
timing is key aswell make sure as soon as the QB lands execute the Heavy kick version of the super, orther wise just the cartwheel kick part will land...
press a kick button, press diagonal up in the direction of your opponent then preform which ever move you would like... also it can only be done in the Hab. back dash.
Can anyone give me some general tips for this game. i seriously suck and want to get better. As i am typing i still havent been able to beat Zangief on arcade on the easiest difficulty (im using El Fuerte) all he does is grapple me and all his moves overpower my moves. I dno how to beat him.
