When I read the books, I wavered back and forth between Mel Gibson as he looked in Braveheart and Gerard Butler as he looked in Beowulf and Grendel for Jamie. I just now realized watching this, the two of them should play the MacKenzie brothers. MG could be Collum, and GB could be Dougal. Anyone else think that would work?

Josh Holloway Is an inspired choice for Jamie. Dont know if he's any good at accents but he looks the part far better than most. A little old for the beginning of the story but definitely better than Gerard Butler. The casting is crucial for this to work. I kinds wish it was going to be an HBO or Showtime miniseries, along the lines of Rome or Henry the VIII. I'd hate to lose to much of this story. I love it.

Too many big name actors...Outlander should be full of unknowns. It's too much of an original to have actors who aren't as well.

Great video. I can see Josh Holloway as Jamie. Has any one considered Alex O'Loughlin. He can do the Scots accent and all he has to do is dye his hair. He is hot!

He would have to dye his locks though..but oh he has the rugged rougish look that I imagine of Jamie and the blue eyes! Good choice!!

Definitely easy to see why you chose who you have. Sawyer isn't a redhead, but that's easy enough to change.

I really do wish they get a movie made. Twould be sweat and bitter in all the right parts.

this is stunning...one of the best outlander vids...if not the best. the cast is awesome. the only one i don't agree with is claire. i think she should be rachel weiss. josh holloway is an interesting jamie...if he could master the scots tongue and dye his hair red...it could be phenomenal.

well done! I really like Kate Beckinsale as claire! She'd make a fantastic claire. I'd prefer it if someone from Scotland were to play Jamie though. I've heard some pretty appalling accents by people claiming to be something other than American. I'm sure there are some handsome Scots who are red heads, dying to be unleashed on to the world!

Wow, yeah Josh would be great...only if he could really pull off the accent! He should take some Scottish speaking tips from Johnny Depp (Finding Neverland greatly impressed my Scottish husband)...Coudn't Johnny die his hair red for that matter??

I think this is the best one so far of the Outlander videos. Your casting was dead on. Josh would make a fantastic Jamie if his was dyed red. Josh has the passion needed to take on the role.
