It was during the 9 earthquake that happened earlier this year and that water is from Liquefaction (google it). Long story short water gets seprated by dirt by the strong seismic waves.
It's called liquefaction and whether this footage is old or not, the Pacific waters will rise above japan and our West Coast; sea levels everywhere will rise and Florida will have to be evacuated also. @504BoyzNikkA You might want to check again - Japan is having at least 3/6.2 earthquakes per week. There are videos posted about this on youtube. It's not being covered in the mainstream press.

The sinking of parts of Japan are a result of stress relief from the March 11th earthquake. The accumulated stress buckled the Okhotsk plate, forcing parts of it up over one meter/yard. When the stress was released in the earthquake, the land sank back to it's unstressed position. It also moved parts of the coast 5 meters/yards eastward.

A 9.0 earthquake is significant - you have a good chance of the whole area falling into a sink hole or just crumbling back into the sea due to liquefaction. See the massive sink home in Chili not too long ago - anyone that fell in died. It was really deep and there is no notice. Holes often are much bigger than the opening and walking to the edge is often fatal.
The Land is quite literally floating on water .... I love you brother ... be carefull ... hard to get rescued from the ocean with debris everywhere ... easier to get out of the area now then later.

@MessIahmake No...the friction causes soil to break down ans water seeps when your that close to sea level. then the liquid makes its way to the surface and forces fractures and bubbles are caused by the swaying there are videos all over Japan of this phenomenon. There were not earthquakes or aftershocks at this time however the seeping still continues today. look at the early Earths pangea state, this has happened all of Earths history.

Funny I came here in my seemingly endless search for any info at all on this supposed 150 mile long fissue in the ocean floor near japan. I heard it talked about for maybe 5 min during the first days of the nuclear scare and then nothing...Well, after seeing this I realise theres no need to search any further. where its there or not this is exactly what i figured would be the outcome. lol And no none of this is being reported in america. alot of things arent reported here...o,0....

@konjunktion26 It's liquefaction, the wet soil and mud underground is shaken like Jello during the earthquake and turns to liquid. It oozes out of the ground and the ground cracks open and sinks a bit. After the earthquake the soil and mud harden back to solid again, and everything goes back to normal.
I'm a geologist, it is a common phenomena and signs of it can be seen in rock millions of years old, they are called Seismites.

It's amazing isn't it? It's called an 'EARTHQUAKE'. This is footage taken during the recent Japanese earthquake. The water welling up is ground water forced to the surface by the shockwaves from the quake traveling through the earth. Google Earthquake effects for more info.

Japan, as a whole, is not sinking. It's on the Okhotsk and Eurasian tectonic plates, which are riding over the Pacific and Philippine Sea plates. The sinking of parts of Japan are a result of stress relief from the March 11th earthquake. The accumulated stress buckled the Okhotsk plate, forcing parts of it up over one meter/yard. When the stress was released in the earthquake, the land sank back to it's unstressed position. It also moved parts of the coast 5 meters/yards eastward.

A 9.0 earthquake is significant - you have a good chance of the whole area falling into a sink hole or just crumbling back into the sea due to liquefaction. See the massive sink home in Chili not too long ago - anyone that fell in died. It was really deep and there is no notice. Holes often are much bigger than the opening and walking to the edge is often fatal.
