The Mozart of the 20th century is between an actual composer like Gershwin or a contemporary virtuoso who actually knows music theory like Satch or Paul Gilbert. Jimi Hendrix used a lot of the same chords and stuff in his work, and didn't know a lot about music theory... not that he wasn't a great guitarist.
