Ferrara does in fact put some JUNK out there. We have a 2005 pumper and its been full of problems since it left the factory. Even had problems on the way home. And their warranty people SUCK!!!!! Charlie Grimes is the person in charge of that. They promise they'll send service techs to fix and they never show up. I have the email correspondence to prove it. Instead we had to get it fixed ourselves and pay for all the screw ups. NEVER AGAIN. Sorry for FDNY.

They have added tools and training the standard rescue unit wouldn't have. Res1cue is trained for everything, but specializes in nothing, where as Collapse Res5cue is trained in depth for only one thing. More so now because of 9/11.

Ferrara, Americas premier custom fire apparatus manufacturer, announced the initial ten aerial ladders in December of 2009. @mercurygrandmarquis1 Seagrave im sure will be going out of service. FDNY Switched to Ferrara because they are cheaper. Sure, some of the NEW trucks are Seagrave, but they will no longer continue to buy them.

@turbolaser92 sorry to say but seagrave sucks they fall apart to quickley and pierce is great for the volies my dept got 3 but for the city rescue one is a pos always oss ive seen it out in (firematic pierce dealier for major repairs shop) several times this year already... ferrara is the best out there they build great stuff they went low on the bid so they can get the contract !.
