Also, I actually think they meant different Gods (and Goddesses) from different religions. Yes we are all referring to deity, but the way a religion describes that deity makes them almost entirely different "people" so to speak. "My" god (let's grab an Egyptian god: Sobek) has a different "personality" than the Christian God, your God. They are different gods.
