For the 2012 election, as of 9/30/2011, both Barack Obama AND Ron Paul have received 52% of their contributions from large corporations. And as you alluded, Romney received 90% and Perry 96% from large corporations. Only Michele Bachmann has received a majority or contributions from individuals, 52%. (Campaign finance reform, anyone?)

Money is valuable, in the sense that people use it to pay for my services, and I can use it to buy things, like booze. It's the equivalent of people giving me the booze, but they don't have to wait until I actually need it, they can just give me the ability to get booze. Money is valuable, in the sense that people use it to pay for my services, and I can use it to buy things, like booze. It's the equivalent of people giving me the booze, but they don't have to wait until I actually need it, they can just give me the ability to get booze. In that sense, it doesn't matter if it's "backed" by anything. It still serves its purpose.
The only problem is inflation caused by printing more, which is like an extra tax..
