@blizzardtheory According to guitarist Niklas Sundin, he composed the first version of the song back in the late 90's and it was originally meant to appear on "The Mind's I" album, but they could never make the song work quite right. They then talked about finishing the song for some other album, but never got around to it until they started working on We Are the Void. With some help from keyboardist Martin Brändström the song was finally complete. So, it's a case of extreme perfectionism. ;-)

Well its good for music's sake but they're more ambient than in the past. They were Godlike in the 90's, challenging our creator's ears. On the other hand you can't just keep putting out the same album.  The progression has been pretty good to say the least. Like all of us we lose our abilities over time. It's what we do with that small window that will echo.
