Not always used, sometimes its brand new and the person never wore it (Like a gift they hated or it was an item they bought and forgot about, ETC).

All items at the thirst stores, especially SA stores are in gently used condition and MUST be clean. Its not really any different than swapping clothing with a friend or sibling.

Wow, what a nicely arranged shop. Ours are totally unorganized, so when I do find something good, I feel soo elated. Some greedy people around here hoard the sale items only to sell it at our flea market for full original (brand new) prices. Every Thursday, these "vultures" come sweep up all the merch.

@britishgangsta101 It's weird because at that particular thrift store most of the cute shoes are in sizes are that way too big for me. I don't usually see that many shoes in sizes 9-11, but that store is filled with them. There must be a few people who donate regularly that wear the larger sizes.

We have a local church thrift - and I live in a twn where we have llbean, coldwater creek, express, gap, talbots, etc at a big outdoor mall - so the thrift store is full of those brands - sometimes brand new!

At our SA , I bought:

dress shoes $5

dark brown blazer, perfect fit $5.

winter coat $12

At another town's SA I bought: 2 T's@ $1.99 each, pink sweater $3.99

Everything I bought at both stores was like new. I usually leave empty handed, I won't buy worn stuff.

Some Tips:

List your needs, be patient, revisit SA frequently, chances are you'll find something great for very little. Everyones's a winner, we get cheap stuff and the SA gets funds to help others!

I have a lot of ones that are gross around me too. At least 5 of them, I do stop in those from time to time but the ones i showed in the video are my favorites. I don't mind the dirty ones, I still find stuff there too, I just make sure I wash before I wear like always.

I always wash everything first before I wear it. A lot of times I'll find new clothing too, people will donate things with the tags still on. Tell your mom to think about this..people try brand new clothes on all the time in stores. How does she know when she buys something new that someone hasn't had it on?
