Hello, I am a highschool trombone player, and I loved your playing on this piece! We played this in our jazz band, and we took it at a much slower tempo. It was neat to hear it so fast. I think we are on youtube, if you are interesed type in Vinton-Shellsburg High School. I look up to your playing! Your tone is beautiful.
Thanks for the comment, HaroLips. Frank is a wonderful musician (and a good guy, too!)Wasn't able to get vid of him though, I don't exactly remember why. The concert was shot by just two cameras, so it was difficult to get good coverage. Someday I'll review the footage and see if there is some way to clips from some more of the players.
We were all wondering who that guy was! He showed up and, as you can see, just sat there! His drooling was occasionally interrupted by some incoherent babbling about marching band drills. Harmless enough, he wandered off before his identity could be determined. The authorities told he was probably a band director. Apparently such behaviors by BD,s is not uncommon :)
Thanks gibbadoggabone. More info about the concert and CD are available at our website. We had ten trombonists on stage. Just like on the CD, we had them arranged in two sections. We also had a 30 pc. trombone choir playing the prelude music to the concert. Nearly all of the soloists on the CD were at the concert. Unfortunately Bill Watrous was very ill at the time and had to miss the concert. Thanks again.
These videos were initially madefor my website. This was the first one I made. I was going to feature each member of the group. It was becoming to costly in time and money. Also, it was a two camera shoot. There may have been places where the cameras didn't cover well, or the sound was bad, or I looked to much like Fred Flinstone, I don't remember. You can always buy the cd (cheap ad promo).

I'm guessing most of those guys are BDs. Evergreen School District is well represented there. Probably a few other districts, too.
