One of the reasons the Pixies aren't 'HUGE', is because their song 'Here comes your man' was brought out very late- because they thought it was 'too poppy'.
If they had brought it out earlier, it would have attracted more people to them.-
The Pixies are still pretty well known, but not as much as they should be.
@scoby6333 That was on their second album...You know what other song made didn't show up until their second album? Nirvana's "Smells like Teen Spirit." Devo's "Whip It" was on their third album.
QED, your argument is invalid. Pixies aren't huge because people don't like originality on their radio station all that much. Plus, as I can attest from personal experience, Frank Black's howl doesn't compliment driving all that much.
that is a very random comparison. but you cant even compare them, pixies are one of the most influential bands to come out of the 80s. just ask all the bands from the 90s. lol. wtf is weezer? just another mainstream band if you ask me.
@sbeezy738 i agree. idk wtf everyone is always talking about weezer in pixies video comments. it's like comparing a diamond with a piece of rust. JUST FUCK OFFFF no one likes you or weezer
idk why no one understands weezers pure genius. They put an alternative twist on 90's pop music. Pixies put their alternative twist on 80's pop music.
@Megastros Pixies and Weezer are 2/3 of my favourite bands! You can't say that, because i'm going mad while wondering is this true! You ruined my life! FUCK!
@Megastros I hope your dead and died painfully for even putting the pixies and weezer in the same sentence and even trying to compare them in anyway ....... who the hell are weezer anyway ?????
They're worshipped and revered by other bands, it's unfortunate that they're not as popular as they diserve, but I'm sure many people have experienced them without noticing in the soundtracks to films etc.
@NightmareGanon Actually yeah they did....lol R.E.M. helped shaped alternative rock, basically separating it from all the post-punk music that was going on....so realistically, R.E.M. was a much bigger influence and all around more popular....boom bitch
pffff!!!! too bad.... I rediscovered pixies few days ago, and I just don't know why I missed they at the time ( must've been too busy).... and now I discover they performed at eurockeennes.... please give me a gun lo!!!! so I just have to listen to them a lot ...now
lyric simplicity has been forgotten. pop stars put toooooo way too much meaning into the lyrics.ppl like black francis and kurt cobain and bob dylan know how to write lyrics. not stupid just simple. and meaningful.thats just wat i think
The range and emotion in his voice were always what attracted me to this band. Funny how only now, a decade later & when I no longer listen to the band do I see the people in it. Yet even still with his engourged look I feel only admiration & thanks for the outlet he and Kim's voice provided me while growing up.
ive listened to this song like 40 times today...no exaggeration literally 40 times...thank you Kurt for showing me this band

Why isn't this band worshiped and revered?
Do you know any better bands that came out of America in the 80's?
Dalgren969 2 years ago 51
Things go in waves. The Pixies were absolutely worshipped in the early nineties. They were banal they were so commonly accepted as great.
habanerobuck 2 years ago
Banal? - their music definitely was not banal, unless I have misinterpreted you...
Dalgren969 2 years ago 2
Everything is banal once it becomes ubiquitous. Let's not get off track, though, Pixies are great, and this is a great track.
habanerobuck 2 years ago 6
No.
They are the band to deserve to have an indie kid sacrifice.
sporter716 2 years ago 2

It's a crime that they aren't as popular as most bands, I found out a friend was a fellow fan (TOO MANY 'F's) and I was so glad.

people i play music with respect them at least. Some people just say "what is this crap?" Maybe Pixies are above most peoples radar.

@Dalgren969 Maybe, depends on taste.
