Saw this for the first time YEARS ago on AMC when they did(they still might)fear friday. Haven't seen it since then and I was pretty young like 9 or 10
Eli Roth is gonna remake this cool little overlooked movie pretty soon . Which means, of course, he's gonna ruin it and it's gonna suck. I hate how they're blaspheming these horror films from the 70s and 80s simply b/c they can't come up with an original idea themselves.
Oh yeah, sorry, it's an HOMAGE...suuure. Try...travesty.
@johnnyphoenix74 Eli Roth is not some terrible blight on horror films, I mean he's done alright so far. granted he hasn't made a whole lot of films and has tried to offset his income by acting appearances, usually in films done by fellow filmmaker Tarantino, but Eli Roth is a cool guy that knows his stuff. lay off.
Damn. We'll probably end up with what Michael Bay thinks is scary a la his horrible Texas Chainsaw remake or something like it. Hollywood just can't make a good horror movie these days.
The Dean Koontz book was awesome. There was a little tid bit he wrote after I finished the book. He (Dean) said that he was not hardly making any money on his books so he turned to writing a book on this screenplay. I loved the book so much that I "qued" The Funhouse on Netflix - supposed to get it this Tuesday. I'm sure it won't be as good as the book but maybe it won't be boring either.
I love the way the book starts out with the very bad storm, the lights flickering and finally going out, and the mother trying to save her life from this evil baby.
I picture this scene taken place in the autumn season.
Very creepy.
If you remake this movie, please add this part of the book.
I think this movie can be remade making it a phobia for people who are afraid to go into those Halloween-haunted houses, and the ones that are part of those carnivals that roll into town.
yeah i read up on it and eli roth is no longer connected to it.. i hope they dont remake this until im older , im going to film school and i want to remake it :)
the offspring of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lechter. "you did it did'nt you you took the money, yeu stupid shit- yeah that's what you are a stuyoopid shit !!!"
I remember my Mother taking Me to seeit-Actually we were there to see the movie "Ghost Story" starring Fred Astaire, John Houseman, Douglas Fairbanks jr., and Melvin Douglas. "The Funhouse" was playing along with it-haha remember those 'Double Features!! My mother took us kids to see a lot of flicks
Both movies stuck out in my head. I remember not being able to sit through its entirety, but asked my Mom if she'd take us again to see it so I could watch it all.
your right!!!!! The girl with the pokeadot skirt and the blue shirt is hot XD. Seriously though its sad how this movie is lost :( I ask all my friends at school have you seen the funhouse? and their like wtf? what movie called fuuunnnnn house? I loved it too!!! :)
if you live in san jose, there is a circuit city in almaden plaza and they have it. and if you liked the funhouse you would like a 2007 movie called dark ride. it is kind of like a remake of the funhouse.

@redmoon241 the book was based on an old script that eventually originated the movie :P so, they were actually more like tie-ins
