Hello ZingLab,

This was music for us in secondary school, 1974 to 1979. I remember that we had one teacher who looked at those of us reggae fans at the time as ganja smookers and criminals.

But the idea behind the Black Star Line, as created by Marcus H Garvey, was to bring freed slaves back to Africa, from the US Plantations. The idea was for the slaves to come back and developped Africa.

It did not work.

Today, most Africans are leaving Africa....

This song takes me back to my secondary school days in SAC Kumbo, Nso, here in Cameroon: 1974.

The whole philosophy behind the blacstar liner project was probably not understood by all involved in the process. Maybe Africa would have had a different development trend today if this lofty Marcus Garvey Idea was followed.

Please just get the message behind the song.

The dub version or extended dub version is already in the video. This particular 12" single has Reggae Regular "Where Is Jah?" on the flip side. I do have the 7 " single that does have the dub version on it. I will post it when I can. It will sound the same as this one if you start the video at 4:39.
