Don't ever totally omit hymns from your services. Many congregations now only cater to the more modern styles (worship songs). There is a place for a variety of styles in worship. Use the hymns, and every now and again, jazz them up to make them delicious to the young people; they'll feel like they're singing something new.
i love to sing and i have come to appreciate the music in my church as an Adventist, its peculiar singing, different from all. its great to sing for the Lord
I keep hearing ppl say that drums and other intstuments shouldn't be in the SDA chruch... Im quite confused on how they would think that when the bible clearly states that we should praise him w/ everything that we have... i would like someone to show me where it says in the bible that it says we shouldn't use instruments to praise him. Continue to praise God y'all... just like how there is a difference in the way you sing, there is a difference in the way you play music...
I love this one..what a classic! so simple but yet so powerful! I love it! I pray that it lives in my heart and soul the rest of my days and where every I go!..Thank you Jesus!
Look up Brian S Neumann and his seminars entitled "Voices of a Dying Planet" for a clear Biblical framework of how 'praise' should be in a sanctuary setting. The argument of "drums and guitars are evil" is illogical, however bringing temporal (worldly) things into the sanctuary is refuting the Spirit of Prophecy. God calls for His people to be above temporal concerns, if there is no distinction between Church praise and secular music then it defames what God requires IMO.
I think that God would be so overwhelmed with our love to sing praises for him, that instruments types/worship types wouldnt matter. (the only thing I dont like is christian rap, but its my personal opinion, not my taste in music/speech)
God Sees all of time from now to the end, and surely music has changed alot since Christ came, I dont know what Gods taste in music is, but I do know he would like our praises, and more he would like us to enjoy them and for everyone to share the same feeling
that is a lovely statement ancientsolar, but not biblical. Have you ever read Leviticus? In fact all through the Bible, the Lord is very particular with what is brought before Him. I have not all the answers on what is acceptable to God. I am humbled that He even loves me. But I do know that there are things which please Him and things which don't. Just because something pleases man, it's no indication of holiness. But I enjoyed this and hope it was acceptable. Praise the Lord !
Are you all seroius!!!! They were on one accord singing of Christ living!!! They had a director who kept them together!! They had no form of demonic spirit showing on them!!! let me say this to each of you who came on here to jugde, He that is without sin cast the first stone!!! If yiu didnt like the song you didnt have to reply!! you should'vemoved on to another sight!!! Instead of commenting on a page declaring that Christ lives go to a real page with people worship devils and comment!!!
Thats really great! I always loved thins song, but we sing it so slow at my church (well we sing everything slow). Don't let others discourage you, there are lots of different worship styles and everyones got to find the one that works for them.
I play hymns at my local church on the piano, their mostly out of songs of fellowship and "New Advent Hymnal" ~ I also play harmonica there, and occasionally guitar, but we never have drums at our church,
Its very difficult to decide between what god wants and what people want, ~ the first step is accepting God and to love him, maybe the diverse musics achieve that, I wonder what music would have been played 1500 years ago 0,0
7. Drums and Confusion will Become part of Worship The Lord has shown me what would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions.
1Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Psalm 150: 1, 2
@Spiderwolfcakes There is no one in this video acting irrational, shouting,or dancing. They are just putting more life into the song. This is not a song that you drag out but you praise the Lord, that christ lives!
A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit's working.
The Holy Spirit has nothing to do with such a confusion of noise and multitude of sounds...Satan will make music a snare by the way in which it is conducted....
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Those participating in the supposed revival receive impressions which lead them adrift. They cannot tell what they formerly knew regarding Bible principles.
No encouragement should be given to this kind of worship. 2SM 37, Mar 234

- This is my favorite Hymnal of all Hymns.....
IF, IF I should die or get killed before the Rapture, I want this song played at my 'funeral'. I'm serious : )
--.> And I liked it sung, ""HE Lived Within My Heart.""' With a {D} at the end of LIVE-D. Past tense.
For how can the Holy Spirit still be living in my heart at my funeral when I'm up in Heaven?? lol

I think the spirit of the demonic is more present in this post than in the praise. Different styles of worship are not necessarily demonic.
